Gudelj wants an urgent meeting with Sevilla board too! LOL
José Ignacio Navarro will be the sporting director and Luís García Plaza will return.
Deputy sporting director who takes the main seat after Cordon left, was technical director and scout before taking up this position. Thing is he was also head of scouting and technical secretary for
from 2020 to 2023. Dealings were so-so but I reckon his hands are pretty much tied anyway, expect more washed and second-rate stop-gap players gathering here for a heyday.
Also over Olympicos’ conference league title.
Does anyone have an idea of the signings we will be making for the 2026/27 season if the current mangement and scouting system stays in place and we aren’t sold? It seems while there is improvements and strengthening to be made in many areas, it is vital that we bring in a holding midfielder and goalkeeper, with the departures of Vlachodimos, Nyland and Gudelj (not confirmed but cant imagine his deal being extended)
Only the 2 i mentioned above, Sangante & Iglesias, which were done by Cordon. Jose Ignacio Navarro was officially announced yesterday as the new sporting director. With the current management, i expect more of the same as these last few seasons: no money to spend. I’m thinking mostly free agents and loan deals coming in.
Newcastle apparently signed another keeper, so Vlachodimos should be available. Sadly that 10m price tag is far too expensive for us.
Jon Guridi signing on a free from Alaves!
I’m happy with this signing. He’s a good footballer and probably better what we currently got in midfield! He can play right back or right wing back too.
Vamos mi Sevilla!
Seems that Julen Agirrezabala and Diego Conde will be options for goalkeeper, both seem to be available
I thought so too at first, and then I pulled up his 2025/2026 campaign stats at Alavés. He only started 36% of their matches, played only 39% of their minutes, and contributed to 0 goals. Alavés was -10 when he was on the pitch. With that said, he did get a lot of minutes down the stretch when they needed him to stay up, and played the full 90 in the key victory over Barcelona.
Juan Iglesias also confirmed.
Is this a good signing? Two right sided players must mean we will sell Carmona and Juanlu, meanwhile we are pretty desperate for a goalkeeper and holding midfielder
I am sure we will see at least one of Carmona and Juanlu to leave. I also like Iglesias, experienced, tireless, and disciplined right back. Was in the starting 11 for Getafe, 95% of the time last season, playing 93% of available minutes. He has a very clean injury history and unlike Carmona, rarely gets booked.
Happy with that signing too! To our credit we making some good moves. Considering we can only get free transfers in the main these are decent signings.
It will help help us steady the ship next season!
Gudelj finally leaving after 7 seasons. Sevilla not renewing him. Good move as could see his best years are now way behind him.
Maybe I’m going mad but everything junior, Castro and sporting director doing so far this summer I’m agreeing with. Maybe they can turn it a round. I hope they do! Vamos!
Personally dont fancy the signings other than they are free. Iglesias is a fine backup, but in no way better than Carmona or Juanlu.
Guridi is just meh.
Dont agree at all with letting go of Gudejl. Heart and soul of Sevilla. Would have given him one more year.
According to Capology he was on €4 million a season, that’s a large amount of money for someone who isn’t a guaranteed starter
Seems to be the most sensible option. From a sporting and financial point of view.
I will say this though, although he will ultimately end up being recognized as part of the poorest performing Sevilla-side in recent history, he also ended up as being a symbol of what eventually saved us with his desire, heart and sevillismo.
Part of the family and I wish him all the best. Thank you, Nema!
Also glad to see that we are moving early. The transferseason won’t be successful until we unload some of the dead weight though. Jordan and Nianzou as the first ones.
If we could get rid of those guys and Marcao that would be huge. It not easy but we have to try move them out. That would be the biggest win for a while!
Getting them off the wage bill and just off the squad frees up our chances of getting more players in for free or low fee. That’s what we need to try to now!
