Sevilla FC 2026 Summer Transfer Window

I have to say it looks like a great job has been done to finally start clearing out the deadwood and some decent players coming through the door also.

Yes we’ll be a bit thin on the ground to start the season but hopefully by the end of the market we’ll have a more rounded squad.

Always a bit of a weird signing this one to be honest.

I’ve been on a weeks holiday and I’m only catching up to the the news of Robbie Ure signing. I have to say this signing really excites me. I wont pretend to know much about the Swedish league but going through stats it looks on paper exactly the type of signing we should be making.

Well I suppose there’s no doubt about what they signed him for or whether we might see another big striker signing… Straight off gets the number ‘9’ just hours after signing.

We were also going for another Al-Ittihad striker, George Ilenikhena. A 19-yo who had signed for €30m+ from Monaco just last year. We were gonna get him on loan, but the Saudi club’s financial situation has changed and are looking for a transfer now. €25m is too expensive for us, even in a good year.

I trust that we still go after 1 more. Ure / Isaac / Peque is not enough if we’re gonna play 2 strikers. Unless, we’re going after a certain Carlos Álvarez…

I think we would, but we can get him for free next year! Maybe they will take Gattoni and a pack of smokes.

I just can’t figure out whether Navarro is right now revealing the incompetence of his predecessors or we are just saying ‘yes’ to anyone who places a bid. How the hell are we managing to get rid of all the deadweight now when it seemed impossible in the last 2 transferwindows? We are probably getting less value than we could have, but is that really the explanation?

I agree we probably getting less money or still having to pay off the contracts to these players or other clubs.

It seems like he’s been tasked with asset stripping the squad to get rid as many players as possible. Get rid of as many they don’t count on.

The only fear is if we have enough time to try find suitable replacements and preferably upgrades.

A lot of these players were in the final years of contract that means it more likely to get rid of them with some negotiation.

I’m pleased we had a clear out but this will only work if we replace them well. If not then we in for a long hard season again.

Its good to get rid of this deadwood, im also pleased with this transfer window overall, we made necessary sales and good signings. I hope we can get someone in for Sow but i for once have faith that we can do that. Navarro is doing well

I have literally never heard of this Robbie Ure guy but hopefully he gives us a bit of hustle and harry and puts it about a bit.

At 6ft 2in he is the ideal foil for Isaac Romero to play off like back in the YEN days and hopefully we can start playing to Isaac’s strengths again, and we see the player who came through from the Cantera and lit up La Liga two years ago.

The fact Gattoni is headed to Ascoli, newly promoted to Serie B probably says a lot more about his actual ability. It makes you wonder what Monchi and the scouting department ever saw in him to sign him in the first place, especially given where we were at the time we did.

Chalk this up to one of those weird signings we seemed to make a few years ago like Mu’nas Dabbur.

Yeah got to hand it to Navarro. He’s worked really had to clear out as much deadwood as he can. It nearly cleared the lot. Fair play to him on that,

We will see how our new signings look soon against Rayo and going forward. We will see who else we bring in before window closes too.

I think it’s twofold, as Mark said most are in their last year or so of their contract so offloading is easier. I think the “transfer fee” was nominal at best too with main aim being to offload their wages, we’ve heard that Sevilla are required to cover the differences in wages for the remainder of their original contracts but as things currently stand every dollar counts. This allows Navarro to 1) Buy the players needed and 2) Register the ones they can buy.

If my memory serves me correctly, I remember Gattoni being a specific request by Sampaoli for reasons no one knows. Just purely speculating here but it could’ve been the club taking up offers by agents for their obscure players in exchange for financial benefits.

Loved the way we played under Sampaoli his first time around, but what an unmitigating disaster his second spell was. Wasn’t he also the one basically demanding we sign Papu Gomez and his huge contract too?

I thought so too before going through all the transfer windows from 2019. Papu was bought in January 2021 while Sampaoli only took the seat in October 2022. The whole collecting attacking midfielder movement started from Lope’s first season when he began with Oliver Torres and ended with his final season when he signed Isco on a free transfer.

I’m slowly starting to get a bit worried about the urgent need for new signings, especially in midfield. We haven’t heard anything about Kochorashvili or Shkiri for quite some time now. The young striker from Al Ittihad also seems to be of interest to :poop:. And what about Oso and Castrin? I thought the club wanted to extend their contracts — or is that no longer the case?
At least I hope Ure will be able to take part in training tomorrow. He wasn’t able to join the session today.

Funny enough, I was just coming here to share this article and comment that for a club that used to be celebrated for making big talent finds that get sold to bigger clubs, it’s sad to see that the only places we appear in this article are the wise but sad sale of an aging Bono and the overpriced purchase of an aging Papu Gómez.

SAD.

So tired of every summer transfer season reading the same phrase… Getting rid of the dead wood.

All we are is dead wood for the last 5 years, apparently.
