I know Messi & Ronaldo were at unreal levels the last decade, but i wish you could only win the Ballon D’Or once. Maybe it’s too late and unfair to implement now, but i feel it would better reflect the talent around Europe.
And yes, Lewandowski at least deserved this one, especially since there wasn’t an award last year. But i’m sure they gave it to Messi because of the Copa America.
That is true lol.And this might not be the best place to put this but I am planning on going to Charlotte’s first ever game next season which is at DC United. Hope to see you there pal.
Atleast Villareal, Sociedad and :poop: are advancing. Very big for Emery and the guys, securing another big influx of CL money and maybe look to surprise next round, would be amazing for them since results have been rough in La liga.
Sevilla has many advantages in numbers so they have more to fall back on, bigger foundations. But anything as you can see with Barca, can be destroyed by bad business. Within their size and posibilities Villareal is doing always respectable, but more volatile, even when they demoted some time back. They overcame that relatively quick, so that´s quite a showing of growth and potential. Still a big gap tho in general.
In a way I think they are comparable to Hoffenheim. The city of Sinsheim and suburbs just reaching about 40.000 inhabitants, where Villareal has like 50.000. Where they have a lot of facilities and things going for them. But to outgrow that size of foundation and to become stable at the top is quite difficult and risky. So within their limits they are doing great, with very high peaks but problems to build up more from that.
If you look at the success of Villarreal’s youth teams and their current young guns on the A squad, I might argue that Villarreal are set up better than Sevilla for the future.
