definitely could say that, but there is a difference in responsibility. Also it’s been a trend over multiple years so is it really unenvisioned, in my opinion not.
Could this become his home, his contract is up in June.
There’s always a chance that he was just needing the right club.
Well, we can officially add another color to the 22/23 line!
There are still quite a few games to be played today, so I’m not going to take the time to go through different scenarios. We won our match though, and that’s the most important part.
haha ridiculous.
I see what you did there…red, yellow, green. Let’s hope you got it right!
Believe it or not those are just the default colors that Excel gave me
The graphs that I post won’t show it because they only include league results, but Mendilibar is still undefeated in all competitions as our manager.
Well, we still have a long way to go… I’m not really in the mood to do all the math for various European qualification, but… four more victories will get us into Champions League next year! Let’s focus on that for now.
Seventh would Be EL conference if CDR winner already in top six?
Yeah, which means that we’re 8 points away from Europe and 8 points away from relegation.
Yeah, as much as it’s fun to daydream, passing Bilbao seems VERY unlikely to me.
I agree. Which is why I’m putting my European hopes in the Europa League. We only need four more wins to qualify for Champions.
It might seem like a big task when we say “We need to win the tournament to qualify,” but when it’s broken down into individual games, it seems a lot more attainable.
All that being said, I think this is still a very difficult task, and I think we’ll probably slip up along the way. I just think it’s our more realistic opportunity to play in Europe.
Technically, even three victories will get us into Champions, just gotta make sure we win the right three out of four (ie gotta win Thursday, and gotta win in Budapest, there’s a slight fudge margin in matches 2 and 3). Or easier, let’s just avoid the added stress and win all four.
Not to overreact
but give him an extension until 2035
The Danish pundit: ‘sometimes all it takes for a team is a manager that goes from complexity to simplicity.’ That looks to be spot on.
From Sampaolis crazyness (which I think could have worked with Sampaoli-players) to Mendi’s more calm approach. Kinda like when we went from Montella to Caparros?
Can we recrown Monchi with the legend crown again? What a maneuver to bring in Mendilibar!
I’d wait until after the summer window to make that statement.
Dude knows the strength of our squad and that is shining through brilliantly; very impressed with him.
Nobody said he didn’t deserve a chance. Just statistically and historically it was not overflowing my confidence. But it shows that the simplicity in his words and ideas helps the team massively at least so far. I think his demeanor as well, looks like it jells well with the team and apparently what the club and board needed, especially compared to Sampaoli, so this contrast probably gets strengthened even more.
Players look liberated and suddenly you score 2.2 goals a game, and it doesn’t seem as hard at all, eventhough how those goals fell, last week and today are miraculous. There definitely seems something wonderous going on, today was fantastic and who knows it brings us to Budapest.
