Brilliant from Rakitic to get that out of there.

Big goal for us! Played a bit more attacking for a change. Still time to hang on yet though.

What an absolutely insane assist from Ivan. If he did that on purpose - wow!

Four goals!? Are we even allowed to score that many?!

Nice football and great ball by Oliver. Nice to see Papu score. Great night for us!

Good ending, nicely done. Saving it before another disaster draw for now, but the next weekend will show.

Lope can’t be the manager can he?

Well deserved 3 points tonight. We played some nice attacking football after conceding the first goal. Of course, playing like this you will risk conceding but this is always better than defending for 80 mins and trying to do something in the last 10.

This also shows that you can actually play decent football without your strongest squad in the field. In fact a decent team should be able to do this without their strongest outfit with teams battling relegation like Granada. Hats off to Granada though as they’ve played well tonight too.

Not optimistic that we’ll continue in this vein, but this at least shows that the players CAN actually play this kind of football - it’s up to the coach to decide whether they’re allowed to do it or not. Also I can’t remember the last time we’ve had Kounde and DC in the box in open play like in the first half… many players in the box and that’s how it should be if you want to cross in the box a lot when attacking.

Frustrated that I couldn’t watch this match, glad to get a win at the end of all it though

Remarkable last 10 minutes of extra time. It was each man for himself, every last signal of system Lope disappeared. The 3-2 came on 93m and the team showed no knowledge of how to control a game for 7 minutes more, it was animal, and it would be animal every week if we didn’t have Lope.

In case you’re wondering, that was not a comment in support of Lopetegui.

I still don’t understand why Ocampos was subbed off… especially after the goal. He was doing well in overall and trying a lot. It’s not that we have a mid-week match or something… the next match vs RM is after 9 days.

That’s one hell of an exciting match in a long time and surprisingly we win.
I’d give 2/3 of the credit to Granada for 1. Their bad defense and the most importantly 2. The don’t press at all while playing high quality fast pace counter.
Lope also give the permission for more involvement to go forward for some reason.
Let’s hope Ancelotte reserve their energy for champions league and don’t press us too hard next week

The changes really don’t hold water, not just for the names but the when and why. Man of the match Diego Carlos off, Ocampos off, Martial started !!! OK with Lamela, Papu and Rafa as it turned out but it was very disjointed.

Gudelj was to blame for their second goal. We don’t concede much from set pieces with the Kounde/DC tandem in the field.

The second goal we conceded is largely due to bad zone marking and no one do man marking, there’s 4 Granada players roam freely. Gudelj awareness is also not DC class obviously.
