Valencia are doomed. We have broken them tonight!
Can we all let go of our âreferee conspiracy against Sevillaâ talk for a month or so?
Feel like itâs been just a wee bit favorable for us today.
The refs in La Liga are still rightfully being called out. But yeah, they give and take - and the fact that almost every single club feels they are the ones being targeted with shitty decisions is quite telling.
A Rafa goal would be the cherry on top! Eff Valencia
Their shittiness is undeniable. Their bias towards RM and Barca basically undeniable as well.
But a back room conspiracy against Sevilla is a step too far for me.
They seemingly hate Valencia more than SevillaâŚ
I wouldnât like to be in that stadium if Valencia get relegated. It could be a blood bath. They are simmering on the edge as a club right now.
Fantastic performance and result! Great confidence to take into Thursday night now.
Great work by our new manager
Was the 1st time I watched Sevilla in that stadium in 2002, and the day I started following them, my wifeâs step-father was season ticket holder and we went over for holiday and he took me to this game to try and get me to be a Valencia fan, but the noise of the Sevilla fans gave me goosebumps and the rest was history including my relationship with my in-law who didnât speak to me for the rest of the holidaysâŚ
I think that penalty wouldâve been given if it were not for the clubâs official statement and reaction to the scandalous refereeing that has been damaging us all season long.
I donât think itâs a conspiracy to be honest, itâs quite real. The RFEF and La Liga do not respect our club like they do RM, Barca and Atletico. They treat us like a team that plays in La Liga once in a while, like Leganes or similar. We donât deserve that as weâve given La Liga and the whole Spanish football a lot to be proud of.
This is a big win! We also look a decent team agsin. Organised and playing with a purpose this is much better. We were the better team. Pleased for Suso
Great comments Shendm!
Thatâs an incredible story, never heard that story. Still on speaking terms with said spouse and her step-dad?
Sorry but a definite no on this from me. Youâre saying itâs outrageous that Barca and RM get favorable treatment relative to us. But also that we deserve better treatment than Leganes? Nope. All teams should be treated equal.
I didnât follow the other part⌠did valencia speak out about something? So they were punished against us this match?
Thatâs reserved for an ideal world / universe, it will never happen in Spain - too corrupt for that. It doesnât happen anywhere in football or any sport actually, itâs the human nature.
We made an official statement last week after the scandalous refereeing vs. Celta.
If we made the statement why would they punish Valencia? I donât follow.
It was Valencia with the potential penalty shout not us.
I think his original argument was more along the lines of âSevilla finally made a stink about the crappy reffing, so we finally got a slightly less aggressively anti-Sevilla implementation of the rules this weekâ.
Unclear if thatâs true or not, but I think we can all agree that the refereeing in LaLiga has been absurd this year and the card-happy and VAR-happy approach to football is mostly just ruining the game. I was a proponent of VAR when it started, but Iâll be the first to admit that it hasnât been what I had hoped. I wouldnât suggest we go back, but I think it has led to a slower football and a lot more crapshoot feeling to the games, where bizarre little tweaks in the match or nuanced interpretation of the rules end up being a bigger determinant of the result than the quality of play.
I honestly donât think they did. The handball was 50-50 and prone to interpretation - the ball was going out after the Valencia player touched it anyways. The red card was a pure red, dangerous tackle by Moriba out of frustration.
So donât worry, the refs have not joined our side yet
Lol! I think we know we need to start making some multi million euro payments to referees association before that happens.
