MD12: Sevilla v Real Madrid [20/21]

The problem is that we don´t have a player who makes a difference at the front, last year was Ocampos who did that. Another problem is striker position, we have 3 average strikers who can´t score 20 goals a season. On the big games like this, we rely on crosses from Navas to De Jong and that`s it. It will be interesting to see what Monchi will do in winter.

We need a complete striker, who can do multiple things, mobile one. Like Benzema.
De Jong waiting for the cross all the time is too easy to mark.

Second, we need to shoot more. Suso heads onto the game and places a couple of dangerous shots right away. That can be a real threat. I think him and Munir should always play since they are the only ones to threaten the goal most accurately.

Great point. Does Ocampos sit?

To me, Munir should play as our main striker, he might be our most accurate finisher – The only player who has a real eye for the goal.

As for Ocampos, he has been this season’s disappointment so far along with Rakitic. He used to dribble into the box like a walk in the park. Yet now he is even struggling to get past a single opponent.
What’s wrong with him, that I don’t know. But we can not afford such a talented player to sit.
I believe he will shine again if he scores a couple of goals in a row.

Opponents are locking him down. He’s getting double-teamed like crazy.

With Suso & Idrissi back from injury, it might not be a bad idea if he sits. But it depends on the player. Sometimes they could just play thru it.

I think Munir should be starting as well. He’s a good dribbler and he can finish and he fits better than LDJ in this control possession style Lopetegui likes to play. Don’t know how many times I’ve seen LDJ slow down possession building or lose the ball with a bad touch.
