Also, can I point out something? The Madrid fans have only started chanting now, after they scored two.
Weren’t chanting before that, that’s why I’m so proud to be a fan of this club, not some glory hunter supporting Madrid.
The stadium was quiet after Lamela scored, and suddenly its loud again, like how so many Madrid fans tried to get back into the stadium after they left when they were losing to Man City last year.
I agree. I think Samps did great and the team to great till the 75th minute or so. We showed much more belief and attacking intent. Plenty to be positive about albeit we have lots to improve on as well. We need monchi and Castro to help the manager and squad out here. Let’s see how we go.
Hard luck guys. I’m proud of the team and manager tonight. We gave them a scare but their extra quality and mentality was the difference. We are slowly getting there though. Let’s keep our heads up and to the next game.
Thought Marcao and Lamela both had great games.Montiel was very good 2nd half too!
Yeah but it’s forced on him as well. We could have expected that as he launched out after that great game and get some set-backs but hopefully not much deeper down. He can’t be allowed to be shit for too much longer, he needs to recover and step up again. Actually he should be allowed, but than he doesn’t need to get minutes. But cause the lack of options he, gets rewarded, which can positively or negatively affect his development. Normally he should get more time to be slowly be brought into the team over let’s say 2 years time into the future. But yeh…
The players that were on the pitch until the inept subs came in passed the test too.
Things are looking good and there’s room for optimism going forward.
It’s up to Monchi/Castro to make or break the club in January for the rest of the season. If we can get Ocampos back that’d be a good signing already, I think he’d fit well in the system with his pace and pair up with the rest of the attacking players.
I thought it would be 2-1 with a good performance by Sevilla and the danger I saw was Vinicius and Valverde, so pretty much what I expected. Vini can open any defence and you can’t allow Valverde space in front to shoot. Apart from that, Real Madrid were miserable and didn’t impress me. Sevilla did connect well but didn’t create many opportunities, needed the added outlet of a forward striker to vary the play.
I think what we have been shown in the last 2 or 3 games is that Montiel is a far better player going forward than trying to defend. Thought we matched them for the 1st 70 mins or so and was dreaming of at least a draw. But yet again their 2nd goal showed that against a team that breaks quickly we just don’t have the pace to catch them,
New young blood required.
Crucial player. Even made Gudelj’s job a bit easier, who had a decent game himself. I need him to be fit for the derby at least.
We made them look better than they were. We started the match scared, and were playing catchup for most of the game. It was great that we capitalized off one of their mistakes for a change, and we finally started to look confident. But then Rafa misplaced that 5 yard pass and the rest is history. It’s a shame we gave away the game so cheaply, because we could’ve tested this RM side more. They’re sometimes a bit tame without Benzema.
A lot to take away. They need to back themselves a bit more, because there is still some class in this squad. I was skeptical of Jordan at DM, because i’m never impressed by his defensive work. Going forward tho, it was nice to finally see someone with his range of passing in that position. Like @Enrico, i didn’t like seeing Lamela on the left either, but he still managed to pop up with a tremendous finish.
Now that we’re done with the Big 3 until early February, let’s go show these other La Liga scrubs what it takes to qualify for the Champions League. But first, bring on Copenhagen!
Thought we gave a good account of ourselves last night, especially in the second half.
At 1-1 at times you felt we were on top and could have won the game. However, it took brilliance from Real in the end to undo us. They’re winners for a reason so no shame in that.
The improvement under Sampaoli is there for all to see though. Players playing with a lot more belief and confidence and better attacking intent.
An easier run of games to come and I’m sure if we can keep playing in this way, the results will come and we can push up that table.
Bring on two home games against Copenhagen and Rayo where two wins are needed!
