Mir providing something we didn’t have last year. A poacher type that can score with the little space available.

I’d say man of the match is either Jordan or Diego Carlos

With most other squads or managers I don’t think we would have won that. This squad under lopetegui is made of strong stuff though. Great resilience by Sevilla!

The two central defenders eat up everything, we would truly suffer without them.

My MOTM is Acuña, but there were a few others close.

Mir showing doubters what’s up, early from the few minutes hes gotten. Huge Value.

An argument for man of the match could be made for all four members of that back line as well as Jordan

Lope style - yeah, sometimes it works. Everything went to plan tonight (except the silly red card of Delaney, which was very weird), but more so because of lack of overall threat from Espanyol, they looked uninspired and we played just good enough to beat them ‘comfortably’.

The positive thing of tonight is the win, 3 important points in the battle for the 4th (blame Castro for this). We have 4 away matches in a row next and that will be a huge test for us. I doubt tonight’s formation and tactics will carry us through, I’d say we rather try what worked vs. Valencia… just in case!

Rekik is gradually improving a lot and very suitable now for a CB sub or an additional CB in a 3 at the back formation, slightly more advanced. Great goal sniffing from Rafa Mir.

Beside that ‘trick pass’ to Navas in the buildup for the goal, Suso has been very bloodless for as long as he played, while Jordan has been exceptionally good and I attribute the first goal to him, it was 70% his goal.
