M18: Sevilla FC vs Atlético Madrid [21/22]

It really is our chance being at home and obviously being 10 points ahead.

The thing what makes me positive is most of our best players on the defensive side are fit. I feel while we lacking options going forward lope will again try to squeeze and keep the game tight and try either win it late or punish them from set plays. We shown we can hang in any game and this is our strength.

It’s gonna be tough with a lot of forward players out and fullback issues but we have the players to cover. I’m inspired by the fact all the players coming in have been doing a great job. Even players like rekik and gudelj who we were worried about have stepped up and doing well.

We struggling a bit injury wise but in the main thing we have enough players and spirit for one last push before break.

I just hope it’s a fair game. That’s why I always get uncomfortable playing real Madrid or Barcelona because I fear the ref/var screwing us over and they may try to throw Barca a bone and lifeline to try catch us.

They know if we win this we go 13 clear of them it’s over for them so we have to play well and beware the ref might be out to make it tricky for us. That said if we play well and coupled with their transition, young team and inconsistency we have a great chance here.

For rythm I would argue it’s even better to play a game every 3-4 days. For PL its like that almost the whole year and some periods even more stacked like Christmas. Daily trainings session will be adjusted the intensity so that the game fitness will be optimal and recovery quick. On any intense midweek training they can get knocks as well. I would say it’s helping us to get into a good shape. The intensity for the younger players from Barca will be a level up from what they normally get to experience. Maybe they recover quicker but to also perform steadily while playing big games, really should be our edge here.

They are very unstable and are really slacking in defense it should help our attack and make us find those moments to punish them, even at corners, or distance or plain luck like we have been doing lately. Their physique is lacking as well, and now they don’t have the exceptional indivuals to save them time and time again.

I believe we are in control and should dominate that match on many aspects as i’m saying. Maybe i’m starting to believe too much, but I think it’s our game too lose.

Depay won’t be there, that’s one of the only dangers to show some magic out of nothing. Dembele, maybe, if he had a good streak on his FIFA games that day.

Frenkie de Jong getting a lot of criticism, even some boooing. Not in his best shape.
So they are banking on a 18 year old to lead them to victory. Bold.

Yeah we have caught them with some of their stars out too. I feel we have the stronger squad than them so the fact we both have lots of players out hopefully should mean we cope better with it.

We just have to play our usual game and keep our heads. You are right that in a way playing again isn’t so bad especially that it’s at home. As we in a match play groove currently so hopefully that will help us keep the intensity up.

Let’s see what happens. I’m just glad we in the position we in. I feel the pressure is more on Barca here too as they have the points to make up. No doubt our fans will be right up for this as well and make it intimidating for them.

It seems that he performs much better in a 3 CB formation rather than on the left-back wing alone.

It seems that we’ll be without our main player Ocampos and Montiel against Barca. DC’s readiness is questionable.

Rough but fixable, we have augustinson, gudelj, Fernando and Rekik (?)

Either Fernando or Gudelj can slide back.
Meanwhile our midfield seems fine,
And in attack I would prefer Mir over Iván this time.

             Bono

Koude Gudelj Rekik Augustinsson

   Jordan Delaney Rakitic

   Munir Rafa Mir Papu

I still do have a feeling Diego Carlos will play, even at 80%.
