Good to see Delaney back in training but both Ocampos and Montiel looked like hamstring victims.

Nice to have Delaney back. It will help increase our strength in central midfield. A real shame about montiel and ocampos who were both playing well before their injuries. I feared the constant travelling around and many minutes they were getting for Argentina was risky for us. Hopefully papu can stay fit and avoid the same fate.

Not all about stats as you see with Sevilla. Granada had more clear opportunities and you know that

I was expecting another covid outbreak via the players coming back from Africa and South America. :crossed_fingers:

Yeah good point. To be fair it could have been been worse with potentially more out. Hopefully we over the worst and things will improve now. At least internationals over for a while.

I’m going to buy the Monchi book tomorrow, should be interesting although it might concentrate on outsiders views on Monchi, I would have prefered a book based entirely on Monchi’s point of view on players, managers etc.

It is 20 years since he was appointed chief scout so it’s a nice chunk of history and hopefully it will include his playing career.

That is available here in the US too I think. $50 bucks here though. ekkk
Also, how do you tell the story of Monchi without mentioning the crazy English speaking fanatics called Monchi’s MEN? haha

Hahaha indeed, you’re right, the author should have consulted us.

It’s a good read, very well written and covers the years from 1999 onwards, recommended, even if you have to learn Spanish first.

Lope in the press conferences, looking at the 2022 stats and the run of form of Elche. Who have point wise, gotten most out of all teams since January, shared with Barça. Beating Espanyol, Alaves and Villareal. Where they have threatened Real and Barça to get a result as well. But it will be another scrappy battle. They have so many, experienced la liga players of which some had good highs in the past, who I think will know how to play Lopeball as well, and play for results in tough matches. Don´t think this one will be good for the eyes, but as always hope to be surprised.

Luck is on Real Madrid’s side here so far. Villarreal all over the boys in white. Asencio should have been sent off for that studs up challenge on Iborra.

Playing really well indeed, Chukwueze drawing a lot of pressure as well. Very winnable, c’mon boys

Yeh, Villarreal are taking the game to Real Madrid but dangerous counter attacks from the Madrileños.

It’s interesting to see how Marcelo became such a bad defender, sad to see actually. Villarreal is looking like a really good team in the last few matches.

I really wish someone would go hard on Vinny to make him freaking scream for real. What an actor.

2nd half for Real… some real good chances. Rulli getting enough on it still.

yep, Madrid are taking turns on who shoots next, they’re all over Villarreal at the moment.
