LaLiga 2021-22 Season Thread

I just checked that Argentina play their 2nd game of internationals on Tuesday 1st February. That’s good news as there is enough time for our Argentinians to return in time for osasuna away. At least the game isn’t right before weekend. Hopefully our players just get used a bit and return fully healthy.

Anyone knows what is going on with the investigation regarding the incident in Benito Villamarin?

From what I could understand from the article below is that they are trying to blame us for the match suspension - does that mean there’s a chance we could have points deducted in the league or something? That’s RM’s and RFEF’s dream and I wouldn’t be surprised with how things are going.

It’s of no importance to Sevilla, it’s just :poop: trying to avoid the €150,000 fine.

And the evidence of a lip reader on poor quality footage is laughable even without knowing how Lopetegui talks.

I haven’t kept this up to date as frequently as I’d like, but here’s the most recent graph! Even with dropped points in the last two game, we’re still sitting at 46 points through 22 games. That’s better than any other year under Lopetegui.#VamosMiSevilla

@sterusebn - out of curiosity, are you a data analyst by trade or similar?

My compatriot Muriqi has just joined Mallorca on loan for the rest of the season, with a buying option. He couldn’t make it at Lazio competing with Immobile so hopefully he makes it here and help Mallorca in their relegation battle as well as in CDR (quarters).

Nope! Well, not technically. I work in genetic research, so there’s a fair amount of data involved, but I’m not a data scientist.

The new Banega ?

Atletico Madrid signed Reinildo of Lille in a 3.5 years contract. All that I can remember is him bossing the left defensive flank against us in both our CL group games against Lille.

Navas back in training this morning along with Bono, Munir and YEN, also present Jules Koundé.

Suso and Lamela not registered for second part of the Europa League campaign, so it will be long before they come back. New registered players are: Tecatito, Martial and Gudelj.

Suso is good and he’d add to the squad depth, but I pity Lamela’s absence much more. He was having a blast before the injury… such a shame.

Looks like we will have everyone back from injury except Suso and lamela. It appears they will be out potentially the season but we can cope with that provided everyone else stays fit. It’s a shame not to have everyone back but we are as close to a full compliment as we going to get.

Dan dropped it on the podcast last week that Suso was done for the year. I’m not sure if that was a slip up because I don’t recall that being announced anywhere.

I’ve seen Lamela potentially back in Late March. Don’t know how true that report is. They were not able to take Munir off the UEFA list because they need a minimum of 4 nationals and they are right at 4 now. Don’t think that necessarily means Lamela is out for the season.

Late March is almost the end of the season considering that it’ll take for him at least a good whole month to get back in the previous form (that if lucky). Fortunately we still have coverage on the wings with Ocampos, Papu, Martial, Tecatito, Munir and even Navas that can help there if needed as long as Montiel’s available. In the worst scenario I think Lope can improvise something with Mir and YEN but knowing him well, he’ll still go with Oliver Torres on the left wing.

Probably because neither are ready for the start of the competition they not entered them in it. There is still hope we might see Lamela back in March/April but we will see. Not sure on a return Suso. Lopetegui might provide an update in his presser on them tomorrow.

True point. Yeah signing both of them makes up for losing these players for a long time yet. Overall we have enough depth in the squad to cope pretty well.
