Messi leaving Barca. I never thought I’d see the day! It’s our season boys! Vamos mi Sevilla!

What a player he has been for that club, they have been so blessed with him carrying that club for so long. That’s what you hope a youth player will become, such a legend. Every club has their own tho, but he has been incredible. Let’s see indeed how they stack up without him.

I have to admit, it won’t be the same without Messi. I hated him when he scored against us and was playing in god mode (very often against us) but I loved his skills/talent and magic in the field. It seems to be official from Barca as well, though I didn’t believe it at first and still don’t somehow as he was close to renewing a couple of weeks ago… but everything comes to an end in life.

It’s been a great pleasure having him in La Liga - good luck Messi, a football legend, probably the greatest player ever.

Aguero will surely be very pissed off at this lol.

Of course RM and Atletico are still better than us and have more $. Also, Barca is still there at the top 3-4.

Benzema & Suarez are amazing players, even till this day. But if Messi is no longer in LaLiga, En-Nesyri could outscore anyone IMO.

Benzema and Suarez are getting old too. I think they both about 34/35. They don’t have long left at the top.

This is a good chance for us to once again be competitive with the big 3 and like you say YEN to try go for top goal scorer.

This article sums up very well what went wrong at Barcelona

I love this quote
" To lose Luis Suarez was careless, to lose Lionel Messi is a complete and utter shit-show".

Just saw this. NaynayAK is my son. It was a big earthquake but we are in Anchorage 500 miles away. It turned out to be a nothing burger. I wish I could change my location in the website. I tried but it doesn’t seem to stick. We moved back home to Alaska this summer.

Fixed. Glad you all are safe.

For Covid19 reasons… of course.

Well it makes sense leaving it at 4 friendlies, especially since there’s no transfer movement as of late except Lamela and Dmitrovic. Lamela didn’t play vs. Roma did he?

However, ideally we’d have things sorted out by now and played at least 5 friendlies… maybe even 6.

From all our rivals and decent teams in La Liga, only Real Madrid are playing 4 friendlies, the others are playing 5-6, while Valencia is playing 7 (new coach, understandable).

So now we’re left to experiment in the first 3 matches of La Liga if there will be movements (depending on Kounde’s case), while we can cover up during the first international break maybe with one more friendly for the ones that didn’t get called up.

Adding to this, worth noting is that every other club is playing at least 1 friendly 1 week before the start of the season.

Besides our central defence, our starting XI is pretty much intact:

Bounou
Navas-(Fernando)-Rekik-Acuña
Rakitic-Jordán
Papu
Suso-YEN-Ocampos

I don’t think it’ll be a problem for the first 3 games vs Rayo, Getafe & Elche. Like Shend said, the Int’l break could then help any new signing settle in, and we should have Diego Carlos back by then.

Barca are in turmoil. Apparently aguero now wants out because Messi is leaving haha :joy: :joy:

I think Barça will be fine. They just won’t have that unlimited ‘Get-Outta-Jail-Free’ card anymore.
