I don’t recall him reporting that. That shit came from England press.
Celta gonna beat Barça today I feel it.
Like I said before we should have played that home game with Barca when they were a mess with Koeman. As they likely gonna be in a better state when we face them when they have xavi in charge.
I still think things won’t just go rosy for them now just because of change of manager. They have a long road back but it’s clear the morale and positivity at their club will be higher than it was under Koeman.
I fear that by the time we play the rescheduled match against them, we’ll be out of the ‘serious’ title race - therefore we could play with less pressure, which is then a good thing.
Hahahahaha! 3-3! I jinxed them lmao!!
Barcelona 3-0 up at the half, game finishes 3-3 with a last second goal by Aspas. Barcelona sure are in some trouble
Nicely done by Celta. If we can’t beat this Barca then I don’t know…
@ShendM Barca are trying everything to make sure we finally finish above them. Surely we can’t mess it up this time eh?
3-3 Despite the best efforts of the ref not giving Celta anything in this game.
Get in Celta! Barca can’t even hold a 3 goal lead!
Barca disappeared like a wisp of smoke after Ansufati was injured. Dembele has re-injured too and it’s all going pear shaped for them.
Nice work by Aspas though.
Barcelona…
That is all
Rayo gave it a real go 2nd half. They unlucky not to get a point. Real Madrid doing what Real Madrid do best sadly though.
The question is… can Xavi bring Barca back to life?
With that roster? I don’t think so.
Personally, I think they’re making a mistake. Xavi is not experienced managerially and although he was a great player back in the day, he’s making a mistake. The expectations given to him will undoubtedly be out of reach. We’ve seen it happen. Look at Koeman, or Pirlo, or Gerrard. All three were well respected by their clubs, but all three flopped. Barcelona do not have the squad nor the finances to save their season.
I think they are hoping this can turn to another ‘Guardiola era’, but it was totally different that time. Tiki-taka is pretty much dead nowadays and Barca doesn’t have the players to seriously compete with the likes of PSG, Bayern, Man City etc.
Very curious to see what will happen with them though.
Exactly, it’s getting beat by teams with high athleticism and speed who just outpace and outpower you in a couple crucial moments and you will get over run. The pace of the game has been developing and generally only became higher and higher. In the end passing and combination speed, in controlled possession remains limited. Where in space and on the run, it has not yet. Barca was ahead of the curve for a while. But the counters have been found and eventually it’s the physical and athleticism that takes over to reach new highs to punish the ones who aren’t as well prepared in those aspects. And get absolutely dumpstered. Probably also because the technique on higher paces has been evolving in the current generation of players. It is starting to demand more and more. Which is what topsport is about to remain on top. Xavi will have to evolve too. Very curious indeed. They can’t keep living in the past.
I think so, though it’s tough at the moment with 11 injured players.
He was a principle architect of the Barca style in the Guardiola years. The system was originally Cruyff’s but Xavi and Guardiola took it a step further with some input from Messi. It is a complex system but does rely on bringing the youth through, and that’s handy when you’re short of players and money.
So basically Xavi is already quite accomplished having done part of the trainers job at Barcelona and had success with Al Sadd.
