If you play Isaac on RW, why not Januzaj? Isaac canât pass and dribble without turn over.
Complicated. Chances of relegation going up
Awful performance. Total apathy from the fans. Most left before the end of the game!
And if Almeyda like defensive CAM, might as well use Mendy in that position. Seems much more capable than Sanchez.
Iâm just praying there are 3 worse teams again. Relegation would break this club. It canât happen.
The fans left because it started pissing it down
With no hope of a come back who could blame them? I sat it out just to see the reaction at full time
That line up tonight lost us the game before a goal was kicked.
Looking from the outsideâŚ
on Valencia fan forums people were surprised at just how bad Sevilla were. Valencia werenât even that great but the goals came from a comedy of errors. First one, Juanlu fluffs a basic throw in to gift possession back. Alexis must have some dirt on Almeyda as thereâs no other reason he gets so many minutes. If Gudelj was a spectator while Ramazani and Duro easily worked it round him that would be bad enough, but crucially he played Duro onside. Second goal, Sevilla actually recovered possession well, but Maupay was running around like a headless chicken providing no outlet. Valencia easily strung a 10-pass move from box-to-box together with hardly any opposition. Gudelj was at fault again as he (1.87m tall) was outjumped by Ramazani (1.67m tall) at a key moment then didnât get back quick enough to cut out the cross. âSpecialâ mention must also go to Agoume who looked like he was out for a jog in the park as Ramazani and Duro outsprinted him. Unforgivable at a professional level when your team is on the ropes and staring down. Ramazani is only on loan but gives a lot more to his team than most of the players contracted to Sevilla do. If you survive, a clear-out is sorely needed.
So a lot is on the players, but that comes back to coaching and Almeyda is giving vibes of being clueless at such a key moment. Line-ups that donât make sense and he seems to have decided that veterans are the way out of it, but theyâre not pulling their weight. Valencia climbed out of a deeper hole a couple of seasons ago by giving canteranos a break. Maybe thatâs whatâs needed? Lastly, stating the obvious, but the owners. A lot was made before yesterdayâs game of the âfallen giants ruined by poor ownersâ angle, which is true in both clubsâ cases, but this year was a rare case of the Valencia owners taking their head out of the sand in the winter transfer window and making necessary additions, with Guido and Unai Nunez a big improvement. Sevilla addedâŚ. Maupay.
Thereâs no way to sugarcoat this. It looks very bad. Any leeway ended yesterday. The games at Oviedo and Levante are now must win as well as the home game vs Espanyol, with a draw or two needed, probably at Osasuna or home to Sociedad. Sevilla were 9 points clear after MD29 last season, now itâs 3 and the dynamic looks worse. Segunda isnât a âlick our wounds, rebuild and get back next seasonâ quick fix as Malaga, Depor, Zaragoza and others have found to their cost, and Sevilla canât afford it, but something needs to change.
Anyway, just my 3 cents.
