While it nervy at the bottom I have faith we will be okay. We can score goals and our forward players are decent.
The defence has cost us a lot of points this season as we been a decent side going forward. If we attack well tonight we can win or at least get a draw. Vamos!
Gosh, this is such a miserable fixture these days. 12 years ago who’d guessed this would be a relegation battle game? Valencia were doing well with 5-0-3 this year (and the losses coming at B-tis, Villarreal and home to R Madrid) until last weekend when it all came crumbling down with a dismal loss at Oviedo (2nd of the season!) The deficiencies have been on the wings, right back has long been poor and this season the left has joined in: Gaya is showing signs of wear and tear and is not the force he was before. Giving away silly goals from penalties and set pieces has been a feature of the whole season. Midfield has been better, but Ugrinic’s injury will be a big loss for this game. Up front it’s been ok with Duro acceptable and joined by Sadiq who is chaotic and always scores weird goals. The winner of this game should be fine, a draw leaves both staring down below. Enjoy the game, folks.
I once again have to ask what Maupay has done to warrant starting almost every time he is ready when he has done nothing since his first game. Isaac really in the cold now…
Both Akor and Isaac on the bench in such an important game seems completely wrong to me and I really can’t understand it. I like Almeyda, but his lineups baffles me more than often.
Anyway, huge game and please get the win today! We need more than a draw today!
At least we have some wingplay today. Combining it with only Maupay up front seemed odd, however, but with Akor on as well now it might actually turn into something…
