A huge win that! This will help keep us nice and safe in mid table. Thankfully Osasuna were poor and didn’t create much.

We up to 8th and the team and club can feel good heading into international break!

Having watched the highlights and match back we were brilliant in the 2nd half. We dominated and created many chances. The first half was poor but although we up and down this season I feel we should have to much fight and quality to fear relegation. We can definitely get mid table this season and hopefully we do. Akor Adams was really good that 2nd half. Vamos!

The hit he took near the end had us worried it happened right infront of us. He went down heavily and didn’t move for around 30sec & looked to have been ko’d. Very relieved to see him get up after that one.

It was a hard hit. I thought he was knocked out for sure. Then the no contact foot injury. I just thought, well there is 2-3 months, but he stuck with it.

for the moment, feels good to go into this break in 9th. certainly we’ve all had some volatile expectations to say the least. but i think this is on the optimistic side of where most of us were expecting headed into the season. LOTS of season left to either improve on this solid start or, to crash and leave us biting our nails down the stretch. everything to play for really. cheers everyone.

Read today that we’re only one point above where GP was at this point last season. Hopefully Almeyda’s different vibes will count for something and get us out of relegation fear zone soon.

Difference of 1 point, but i can see a gameplan with Almeyda. Til this day, i still don’t know what Pimienta was going for. (Orta is also to blame tho.)

I have to call this out.

You talk about treating others with respect and make posts such as this. You personally insult forum members and our own players on a regular basis. There is never any need or excuse for this and it’s about time the moderators acted.

I’m all for people making constructive comments but your posts aren’t very often that.

As for the game, it’s a massive and much-needed win to stop a run of defeats and move into the safety of mid-table. First half we didn’t play well and second half we played a lot better and were unlucky not to have won by more. Thankfully Osasuna gave us a pen. We had to win against an Osasuna side with such a poor away record.

I will react whenever provoked Chris. If someone replies to my comment with hate, I will do what I can.

I will never tolerate disrespect as obvious as the two shitiful intents from Rene and Aduk or whoever else.

It’s not about whether one wants me here or not, this is my forum as much as it is others. It is about whether one allows others like the above jump on comments and talk shit, without anyone asking them anything. I won’t.

A couple of stats that caught my eye:

  • Sevilla are top of the league in goals per shots on target.

  • We are 6th in the league in total goals scored (1 behind :poop:).

  • Sevilla are number two in total Tackles - 233, and are first in tackles won (152)

  • The majority of those tackles (96) are won in the middle third of the pitch

  • We are 5th from the bottom in total shots

  • We are fourth from the bottom in shots on target.

  • Sevilla are third from the bottom in expected goals

  • Sevilla’s Goals minus expected goals is top of the league +5.8 (Barcelona +5.2, Villarreal +3.2)

  • Sevilla leads the league in offsides (38), Getafe is second with 31

  • Sevilla have only completed 9 through balls all year (tied for 4th worst) - Celta Vigo has 37 (Carlos Alvarez has 9 himself, leading the league)

  • Sevilla leads the league in yellow cards (41) - next closest is Getafe (30)

  • Sevilla are second in fouls committed (191) - 3 behind Real Sociedad

  • Sevilla and Celta Vigo have given up the most penalty kicks this season (5)

These three really go together and are wild to wrap our heads around. My impression was Isaac has been super poor at finishing and would’ve thought we were not converting shots at a high rate. But this suggests that its the build up that’s failed to create chances as much as anything.

More broadly, that’s all quite troubling and suggests that our overperformance on this metric may likely regress back to the mean if we dont start creating more.

That’s where my analysis went as well. Looking at all the stats, we are more closely aligned with the bottom 4 than the top 8.

yeah, that’s a splash of cold water. but i’ll take it. some good fortune allows us some space to breathe in a way that being four points lower could turn into a dark spiral of stress/pressure.

Again, i’m sorry for being late to this, and it kinda feels like re-opening the wound. But i just want to let you know where i stand on this.

I often see Shend shit talk players when he feels they aren’t delivering. I liken it to a fan yelling these same things at a football ground. I think you’ll understand him better reading his comments thru that lens. I personally don’t have a problem with this, as long as it doesn’t cross a certain line.

But i will take issue with “insulting forum members on a regular basis.” I see verbal spats & disagreements. Had there been insults, especially regularly, action would have been taken long ago. I think claiming this is unfair.

This is where i have a problem @Shendm2. or is it @Shendm92 ? or do i also need to tag in @Shendm3 for you to understand? There is no universe where Kike Salas is better than Nianzou. And i KNOW you don’t believe that! It’s like saying “I’d rather have Simon Kjaer & Sergi Gomez in my backline!” You just haven’t seen him play in a while. Kike has been getting away with murder cause there literally wasn’t any other options.

We’ve seen decent performances out of Carmona, so i don’t think hope is lost with Salas. The guy has improved from where he once was, so i know we’ll see him eventually.
