Yeah I’d agree with that analysis. The premier league has better quality players, more money in it amd reached higher levels lately.
However, La liga is more competitive and you get more crazy drama in La liga games compared to the premier league

Until a few years ago you could have made a good argument for the quality of La Liga being as good as England but now sadly it’s not even close. The head-to-head results in UEFA competitions in the table bear this out. It’s been very one sided in the last 5 seasons.
Much of this is down to the marketing. When I worked in Asia the La Liga marketing was very narrow and short-termist: focused on Messi vs CR7 and all “Real Madrid this” … “Barcelona that” … “El Clasico blah blah blah…” There was no attempt to market any of the other teams even though Atletico and Sevilla had emerged and were doing consistently well and Valencia weren’t the current mess they are. In contrast, the FA Premier marketing was all about how it was this open exciting league where anyone could beat anyone. Even if the 2nd wasn’t true, it attracted more interest and more fans.
Now we’re seeing the result of that short-term thinking as most La Liga teams don’t even have 2 cents to rub together and can’t even compete in the transfer market with teams from the English 2nd level, never mind the Premier, while even the top clubs are routinely getting owned by the English clubs. A stupid approach, but they’re reaping what they sowed.
Congratulations to Levante for securing promotion. This might complicate any hopes of getting Carlitos back on the squad.
Interesting battle for the second automatic spot between Elche, Oviedo and Mirandes. I’d love to see one of the two new teams get it.
Racing, Almeria and Granada all in with a chance also when it comes to the play-offs. Again I’d love to see Racing go up.
Can you imagine, the biggest day in your clubs history and the headline includes your most fierce rival. haha
Hopefully ex Sevilla player Maresca can get one over :poop:!
Isco plays like god against Chelsea (in first half).
Make me wonder what the heck our bad management (and Lopetegui) did to waste such a masterclass
I have to say :poop: were superb in that first half. Dominated Chelsea. Wonder if they can keep it up. I’m envious at the level they can play compared to us. Isco is a footballing genius. We missed a trick not getting the best out of him.
Second half has been all Chelsea. Loving it.
Not Like Us
When Meresca correct his fucked up starting line up and play a better formation and players in the second half, the game is over, difference in athleticism and physicality is huge, let alone other factor.
I really think premier league is going to be more or less the NBA in football in the future due to, you know, capitalism
Well done Maresca and Chelsea. Completely outplayed and overpowered :poop: in the second half.
European finals aren’t for everyone.
Night and day difference with his performance there vs here
Beticos are offended because Sevilla congratulated Maresca and Chelsea with the Conference League trophy… the baby-brother energy is still strong with the green guys. Love to see it.
Betass lacks the pedigree to win European titles… it’s too large of a bite to chew for their small football mouths.
They should stick to trying and win the CDR… and doing well in la Liga (top 7 or so).
Espanyol Signs Marko Dmitrovic
After coming from behind against CD Mirandes, with whom they finished level on points at the end of the regular season, Real Oviedo win 3-2 to ascend to La Liga next season.
Quite an achievement for a team that was in real financial trouble a decade ago. You may remember them crowdfunding back in 2012. Quite fitting too that Santi Cazorla once of Villareal, Málaga and Arsenal got the first goal tonight for his boyhood club
I saw Oviedo play at Malaga in October. Cazorla got a good reception. Gotta say that Oviedo didn’t look promotion material to me, so shows what I know. They do have the money of Carlos Slim behind them so stand a better chance of staying up than some of the newer clubs.
