Happy la liga indeed! Barca 3-1 up at half time against Villarreal. All results are going for us! If we can beat Eibar we virtually secure champions league place. Vamos!

True. I never feel confident when we play them. I still have bad memories of the 3-2 earlier this season and the 5-1 loss a few years back. We have had good wins against them too but it’s a mixed bag for sure.

We been getting favours done since La Liga returned, but never capitalized. We dropped points to Levante & Valladolid. Not to mention all the points dropped playing at home earlier this season. It will be no cakewalk.

Yeah I agree completely. We have struggled at times to beat teams like this. Especially at home too. Certainly the la liga gods have been smiling down at us so far, let’s hope it keeps up to the end of the season haha.

Hey @SurreySevilla, you following these :poop: rumours about Pellegrini + Cordon going there? I remember we were linked with that tandem when Monchi was leaving. What do you thinkvm?
I’m not sure what Pellegrini has left in him, but maybe one last run in La Liga couldn’t hurt. His Villarreal & Malaga teams were pretty good. And Cordon has done good work at Monaco.
This would make good competition in Seville if all goes right, and perhaps raise the profile of La Liga in the long run. But :poop: is shit, so let me not get ahead of myself.

Of late, of course Pellegrini has had more money to work with but let’s not forget what he achieved with Villarreal. I actually think he’s a manager more suited to get more out of less than he is to get a side purring at the top.
There is talent to work with in that Betis side in my opinion. Enough? Well that remains to be seen but it’s easy to forget that when they are struggling so badly. Bartra for example is a very good CB to build around.
Some of the young talent that Pellegrini could bring on like Aleña, Lainez and Emerson.
For the most part they definitely need a rebuild but they’re sat in 14th with pretty much everything going wrong, so who knows what a manager who can bring them all together could do for them.
If you get players like Fekir, Tello, Canales, Borja and Juanmi all inspired and playing again next season then they’re suddenly a different proposition.

We need to win at least 1 out of the next 4 matches if we want to retain the 4th. Won’t be easy, as Villarreal will most likely win 2 out of their next 3 matches, assuming they’ll certainly lose against RM (you all know why). But anything can happen, so to be sure we should ideally go for 2 wins in the last 4 matches, and we might be able to do it if we’re serious enough.
Luckily we have a better h2h vs. Villarreal, 1-1 in RSP and 2-2 in Ceramica.

Villarreal actually have the better H2H as they beat us 1-2 at the pizjuan!
Yeah the pressure is still on for sure. I feel if we get 4 points in next 2 games that should be enough. I will take a point at Bilbao and then hopefully a win against Mallorca.
Sociedad and Valencia are tough games but they might be despondent they can’t catch us now and hopefully we get points in them too.
Real Madrid have did us a few favours already and hopefully they do us another against Villarreal. I hope Barca keep winning to keep the pressure on Real so they have something to fight against Villarreal too. The other teams and now getafe are out the equation now.
I feel the motivation to try catch atletico will help us too. A win tomorrow and a real chance of 3rd, achieving more money and sealing champs league. Big motivation for Lopetegui and the squad. Vamos!!

Oh my… I saw the h2h results quickly and my brain registered it as 1:1, haha! Wishful thought anyway.
So we’ll have to win 2 out of 4 after all, or screw up and hope that Villarreal screws up as well - the Sevilla way!
