Europa League Mini Tournament 2020

The best of ones are dangerous but I’ll go with a 3-0 for Inter. Their team man, Getafe Will be outclassed everywhere.

I tuned in a bit to watch Ifran Can Kahveci and the turkish champion, Kopenhagen punished them quite hard. Nothing special to be said. Also Shakthar shows how to score goals in the latest few minutes lol, confirming their next round placement.

Başakşehir got so carried away after winning the league that they have not prepared enough for such an important match. They were clueless on the pitch.
What is worst is that our Turkish teams have failed to collect enough points throughout this season in all Europe, which will probably cost us the right to participate in CL directly. Turkish League champions will most probably play in the last qualification round in order the gain entry at CL arena starting 2021-2022.

Molina… what a shame. One of the worst penalty shots I’ve ever seen. Getafe deserved the extra time at least.

Apparently Inter was very tired according to Conte. Getafe started well but handanovic and def saved it at the start, after which Getafe lost the freshness advantage and inter grew a bit into the game without doing much, Lukaku’s strong run and deadly finish turned the tides. The penalty could have brought it back but didn’t happen and they got punished as well. Credits for their effort indeed.

Apart of that stupidly conceded goal, Olympiacos were the better side imo and Wolves look very very beatable. If we play anywhere near tonight’s level, we’ll advance to semis (of course we’d need a bit of luck as well).

I watched some of the interviews of the players and The bonding in the team seems quite strong, reguilon, kounde and youssef all praising the atmosphere. Naturally in a winning team, the mood is good. But the collectivity and teamwork in game as aswell as out of it is great stuff. Also Sergi Gómez ecstatic celebration made me glad, what a team player he is.

Nuno Espirito Santo probably remembers the loss from Sevilla (1-0 away when he managed Valencia in November 2015) which led to his sacking that night.

Wow, i totally forgot he was at Valencia!

There are couple of native English members in this forum so they can enlighten us on the weaknesses of Wolves. I watched them against Beşiktaş in this season’s group stage, which didn’t fare well for our Beşiktaş side. They play fast fluid football, but that’s all I know of them.

No matter how strong the opposition is, I want Sevilla to do what they did against Rome. Play possession football and let the experience speak for itself. After all we are the kings of this competition. Am I right?

Haven’t followed them in EPL or even in EL (except the match vs. Olympiacos last night). However, what I’ve read from their forums is that they have not been in a good form coming back after the pandemic pause. Meanwhile, we have been. However, every team at this point is strong enough to beat their opponents, especially with the one off matches in the improvised system. So let’s see what happens, it will be interesting for sure.

A huge blow for them, along with Podence who is suspended on a yellow, a very tricky and quick winger.

Quite unnecessary traveling… not sure why they did it, usually doesn’t work that way and teams set up camps in the cities where they are going to play the remainder of the tournament (like World Cup or Euro etc.)

Rony Lopes is not needed and was a surplus from the beginning, if you remember a post I made a while back :stuck_out_tongue:

As for Gudelj, he causes some stupid fouls in danger zones at times and is careless when tackling, but he would provide some fresh legs and we’d need the fighting spirit especially if we are winning the matches later in the second halves.

We’ll officially face Man Utd in the semis if we get past Wolves tomorrow night.

Man Utd is one of the clubs I despise. Hope we can meet them and send them home. They had a very impressive run towards the end just like Roma did, just like we did (are doing) but needed the additional time and a penalty to deal with Kopenhagen (with all due respect). We beat them in CL before and they are very doable these days as well.

Let´s deal with Wolves first, show our best and chase that new record of europa league titles. I am more confident about this one than about Roma. Vamos Chicos!
