Champions League 23/24 - Sevilla FC vs Arsenal

All tickets are nominative Jim I could probably get you one in my wifes name but there would be a problem if they check them at the stadium. unless you are prepared to dress up

I couldn’t watch it either… but from what it seems it wasn’t a positive one. Lukebakio out of form on the right side, can’t adapt.

Unless we win every match from now on it will be almost impossible to go through. We’re ok with 3rd though, so that we can get to EL and win it :stuck_out_tongue:

But he just played with Belgium on the right side, no? And scored twice!

Did the calculators get the math wrong? I ran the numbers and there are quite a few scenarios where we lose to Arsenal and still go through. Not guaranteed, but it’s not a far fetched result, either!

I am hoping for a point v Arsenal and 6 from Lens and PSV and we are through. And even with āˆ… points from Arsenal, it’s not that hard to imagine. Let’s not start talking UEL until we need to. I think the loss v Lens and the last minute tie v PSV made us all predisposed to think this campaign was a wash, but all the ties have made it far from a wash. We can still make it through to Octavos!

Good excuse to take the partner, Jim! Cheap ticket for her, and you pay for the resale ticket for yourself.

I thought about this tonight after I wrote that… not sure why it’s not working with the club.

As for passing through, if Lens beats PSV and we don’t get anything from Arsenal next match (very realistic), it’s practically over. I don’t believe in miracles, especially in CL for us. EL is another story :stuck_out_tongue:

Still not convinced it needs a miracle, my friend. Here’s that exact scenario: we get nothing next match, Lens beats PSV. All that is needed in that circumstance is for us and Arsenal to both beat Lens and we beat PSV. Like I said, we definitely need those 6 points, but that’s far from a miracle.

Still dreaming of the Sweet Sixteen.

Did you join up as a red or white mbr a while ago Jim?
If so you should be able to get one from the club site

The club probably want to be be in the Europa league. It’s been our route for a while now.

We have more chance in there and another way to try qualify for Europe if we can’t through the league.

Poppycock!

There’s no way that is a smart economic move. The returns just don’t add up, and the likelihood of qualifying through winning UEL are just way too remote to be better than getting the extra $$ through Champions wins.

Winning the Europa League is great and it’s obviously a competition that means a lot to us.

However, I kind of feel we’ve been there and done that and any serious team wants to be competing in the Champions League and progressing as far as possible. Fans in general look at the Europa League with indifference and view our achievements as not being as incredible or as big a deal as we may see them. In fact we turn into a bit of a running joke for being Europa League experts but useless in the Champions League and that’s not really wrong is it.

I’d rather get beyond the group stages for a change even if we don’t finish in the European places in the league this season.
