This was crucial considering the debt we are in. Iām proud of the players though. They left everything tonight.

Now they can focus fully on rebuilding. Nothing to play for anymore. Now itās mostly on the managerial staff and board to cut the rubbish and find/polish the gems.

Almeria and Granada are something else.
I really wonāt go as dark to see us be next following one and demote. The gap is bigger than you guys are assuming.

Yeah exactly. Whatever the league, team, manager, board I will always follow this club.
I donāt think alonso or his players have anything to be ashamed of tonight. We tried but just not enough on the night and lacked some luck at times.
Credit to lens fc. We can focus on staying in la liga now though.

I think provided we still close to 18th we in a relegation battle.
We need to pull away. We have this worrying habit of being on top but still lose or draw like tonight or at Mallorca. If this continues we will be still fighting down there.
We just donāt score enough goals and always liable to mess up in defence. In both boxes we still poor and needs to improve if we to get to mid table at least.

Itās very early but the Copa can lead us into Europe still right? or is it Conference League now. Either way. Season feels over, but lets see how we go into 2024.

Only the copa we have a chance. However,it feels unlikely considering we will have to beat a big team to do so.
All I want is us to improve in la liga table and then big changes at club in summer hopefully.

Nah donāt worry. We have enough to scrape by and be save and then play 5 Copa rounds as if they are Uefa finals as our only focus.

Iām loving your optimism haha. I think sadly though we will likely have to accept no Europe next season.
Itās crazy considering the consecutive years we had of European football. Itās been a great run no doubt.
Letās just try beat Getafe at weekend. If we play like tonight we have a better chance. Fingers crossed.

Missed Ocampos big time here against this nervous Lens team, esp in the first half.
On top of other important team members like Navas, Lamela, Marcao of course.
YEN was anonymous tonight, combination of being well marked by two defenders and his own lack of better movement.
Alonso seems to have bad luck with him as well as just not bringing enough into the team even in difficult circumstances (partly because of our own flaws and tactical errors). And that lack of luck may be his undoing as much as anything, as Sevilla this season (and largely last season) need all the luck we can get.
So there may have to be a change of manager made, to try changing our luck as much as fortunes on the pitch.

Ultimately it was 2 giveaways that led to both goals we conceded. The pen called for them was a bigger farce than the supposed āfoulā on Salas from the Villarreal game. We are unlucky. We are missing important players. We are not doing well enough in the final third. Like @Packman said, a lot of this couldāve been avoided, but we got a lot of season left to bounce back.

I think the biggest worry for me is teams can play so bad against us and still win or draw. Both lens and Mallorca played pretty bad yet still won. It worries me we can control games at times but it matters very little if we not good enough in both boxes. I hope it changes.
It feels like an undeserved loss but it seems to take many chances for us to score. Then it can take just 1 blunder or 2 in defence and we behind. Itās a bad dynamic we in.
That is about as well as we can play right now and it still counted for nothing. Lots of teams just donāt fear us anymore.

I agree. Crazy decision. VAR certainly isnāt our friend either. We donāt need to deal with that nonsense as well.
