Acuna sleeping as is his sad tendency on the high diagonal, leading to the goal for them. Maybe he is still dreaming of the possible move to grey Birmingham and Aston Villa…
Suso and Navas on for Pedrosa and Juanlu.
God I wish Navas would go for goal there.
Jordan is pointless.
Jesus, why did Navas take sooo long to pass to Mariano? Was a great chance if only he passed early, would probably have been the equaliser?
Barcelona always the same. Even if you think you are getting close, things end bad anyway
Jordan can’t even work a throwin
Not sure what to say…
Mediocre is all i can say, from most of our players (except Dodi and Jordan), to the coach, to even Barca.
It used to be a better watch than this (even if one sided).
The changes from Mendi made us weaker, unfortunately.
Acuna just letting Yamal head the ball freely, Navas and Mariano not sharp enough.
Pity, played not badly and this was a good chance to get at least a draw at Barca.
I want to attribute that OG to Jordan to be honest. That man gave (Ferran I think) about 10 meters of space to perfectly pick out Yamal. He did not even try to make it somewhat difficult.
The lack of quality in the bench (but even in the field) made us lose this one, against a very pathetic and beatable Barca.
Who in their right mind keeps Jordan for 90 mins? Why not give Soumare a chance? Why take out Sow that early?
We don’t have a quality goalkeeper after Bono left. Mendi is not trusting Dmitrovic and Nyland is pure shit.
We don’t have a striker other than YEN. Mariano looks like coming fresh out of retirement, having not played for the past 10 years. Mir surely doesn’t make an appearance because he is shit, even when on the bench.
I felt that we could get 1 point out of this, but with a biased coach like Mendi and some of the players that we have… it’s good that we are where we are to be honest.
I used to be against sacking Mendi because it’s kinda pointless, but I’m not sure any more and it probably won’t cost much at all.
That man is way too biased and weird.
On a lighter note: Bade has become super solid. Has improved a lot in his calmness with the ball and defensive positioning compared to last season.
Also happy with Juanlu’s progression. He’ll be ready to replace Navas at the ennd of the season if he keeps it up.
Luke also looks like a fine addition. Not lope-ified like most of our players, let’s keep it that way.
I just didn’t understand our starting lineup. We set ourselves up for no gunpowder from the bench. You have to trust Mir here. I know he’s not the best, but damn it he can score and he can hold the ball up pretty well. Having Luke trying to do that is just a waste of his talents. Unless he gets the ball over the top, he can’t do anything because there is no one in the box. No link between midfield and attack.
Xavi such a hypocrite he criticizes teams for wasting time every week and then they running to the corner flag today and wasting time
Barca wasted at least 20 mins of time this match… so frustrating to watch.
Shame about the result. I missed the match but it sounds like the same old story when we face Barca.
Well we move on and hopefully better next game. Vamos!
As for the Ramos og… it happens. Can’t be harsh with him when he was almost perfect tactically in defense throughout the match. Great positioning and leading the defense with Bade.
Our weakest link remains the defensive midfield. Hopefully Soumare can step it up in the meantime.
You have to give credit to Mendilibar for having the balls to play Juanlu against Barca.
The kid did very well and was in my opinion just about our best player tonight.
Maybe it’s just me but I actually thought we played pretty decent. More than matched a beatable Barca side for large spells and had quite a few chances to score. A freak own goal from Ramos wins it for Barca who always just seem to find a way to beat us. We deserved a draw.
Definitely big signs of improvement in recent games. Defensively we look solid with Ramos and Bade and Juanlu and Pedrosa have both done well coming in for Navas and Acuna. Then with Sow in midfield and the attacking quality of Lukebakio, we have a lot to build on and be encouraged by. This isn’t last season for sure. We’re a better side.
We will get results against a lot of teams playing like we did last night. Vamos!
