We deserved to win. Unfortunately that’s just now how football is. It’s cruel. It felt like every decision went against us, and we couldn’t finish to make things worse.

We tried everything but mix of us shooting ourselves in foot, ref and VAR and Girona were organised and clinical we lose.
It was a decent performance but it’s worrying we playing decent and still losing. First time ever I remember us bottom of the table after a round of games. Sad times.

Commentator mentioned that this is the worst start in the history of Sevilla in La Liga. Too lazy to confirm it for now, but it probably is as I can’t remember the last time we lost the first 3 matches of the season in a row.
As for the ref - if there was a legit system and a ref prison for shitty refereeing, Gil Manzano would get a life sentence.
Victor Orta has not done a good job in overall this summer window - especially with the scandalous replacement of Bono with Nyland. However, it’s not his fault that his transfers are not being properly used by our genius coach. Pedrosa tonight has been 10/10 and we haven’t seen anything from Lukebakio who was clearly ready and itching to get on the pitch and do something. That’s what we signed him for after all, not to warm the bench because a pathetic motherfucker of a coach called Mendilibar decides to do so.
It’s time to say it folks… JOSE LUIS MENDILIBAR - FUCKING OUT!
Beside the match vs. City, where I still think it was largely due to City giving only about 30% in that match and missing key players (but we have to give credit where due after all), he has not been able to make use of the new transfers, has very often made the wrong sub choices (+ one tonight replacing one of the best on pitch, Ocampos with Mir), has not been able to lift the team up spiritually and to inspire them to do well and has not sorted out the defense in the La Liga games so far.
I believe in second chances, but Mendi has had 3 already. Enough is enough!

The buck stops with Castro for me. He’s running out of road. Most people in Sevilla want him gone now. He’s did great things for us but he’s struggling to lift us and running out of ideas, etc. We won the europa league and finished well but it still papers over the cracks.
We been mismanaged for last couple of years and we been slowly regressing or losing our way/identity. We need a new bounce or direction at club.
I really hope we can get another shareholders board meeting as something needs to happen. Even if it’s crook Del nido getting back in, I just feel the rot has set in at this club and it will be difficult to get rid off at this point without big changes.

If Ocampos was great then nobody was. Same as Youssef, they all need replacement and we need to move on from being hardstuck with these players.
Core of the team is just worn out. Need a solid core of strong new players to build a new squad around. Sow and Badé can be two of them. Now at least two more and hopefully Lukebakio can be one of them.
If we are serious for the future a talented goalkeeper as well and a proven scoring striker should be two of those. And we will fill the rest with Pedrosa types and what we have left. Sincerely believe if we start now, we’d be better by next year. But it seems like we struggle with moving on a whole lot.

Unfortunately we probably have to go through another underwhelming season, 10th finish likely.
And we’re still paying for the huge mistake that Castro (and Monchi?) made few years back, namely to strengthen the team by refusing to sell any core players like YEN and Ocampos for 40M, and buying “mature” players like Papu, Rakitic and Fernando.
The last resort (strong defence) has gone last season and Orta refused to patch it cheaply by signing Ramos.
Maybe genius coach like Guardiola can turn this around but the board only hire “proven” coach nowaday.
So, IMHO, there isn’t likely any solution before 2024 summer which a lot of players contract will end.

That’s an assumption… Nothing indicated that he was going to be cheap. Cheap relative to his past salaries maybe.

You hit the nail on the head. We kept hold of players for to long and that’s why we now in this debt and mess. We now left with to many old players, past it players or players that don’t cut it in the squad.
Monchi and Castro took a big risk but it backfired in the end. We can get out of this mess but it’s going to take some time and patience sadly.

Yes both were great, but the resale value aren’t there so it’s not sustainable.
And sustainability is key to Castro, he simply want 4th finish for 10 years in row.
Maybe Castro thought back then, if we finish 4th with Lope every year than we will have the money to buy substitution but obviously COVID change everything.

If he thought it would happen without doing much at all and without evolving he severely underestimates how top football works. Thinking you can stay there, without doing anything.
Imagine if the last years miracle run didn’t happen. Would we even have any money, footing and perspective to attract any decent player. I will tell you Sow would not be here. Making it to CL, decent income, was literally a god’s gift to restart and start on the right foot from there and we still throw away the moment.

I predict 10th because Orta looks like will make 2 more moves and people said good things about Luke and the Greek striker. Otherwise it’s 13th😂

Some Madrid fans saying Ramos are going for both high salaries and champions league, and champions league is the only reason he reject Saudi big contract.

One thing I’d say is that, when he was speeching against Alavés last game, the players just completely ignored him and we’re chatting with eachother. It’s one thing to look away but it was painful imo. Not a good sign and I doubt his authority. Rafa Mirs interview same thing, just shows lack of communication between Orta, Rafa and Mendi all.
