Either something he’s going thru personally, or just unhappy at the way we’re playing. My mans didn’t even go for the ball after it went in.
YES please! That kid can ball!
Maybe Yen’s lack of celebration is because of the darkness happening in the middle east at the moment. I don’t know that to be fact, just one guess outside of “he’s unhappy.” But he’s the only chance we score from the striker position, so he should be playing every match. Don’t get the rotation for a star player.
The only excuse I can put forward for our display tonight was the poor state of the pitch. I realise that they have had a lot of rain this week in Vigo but it was no where up to the La Liga standard. At one point when the ref used his spray for a free kick it looked like a contour line on a relief map.
Ocampos brought that up in post-game. Both teams had to deal with it though.
Not good from us last night. Absolutely toothless in attack again. YEN came on and gave us something that Mariano didn’t offer and we manage to grab a point.
VAR got it right with the pen call. If anything Navas had his shirt pulled. Would have been a very soft one.
We are becoming draw specialists. That’s four draws in a row now. We desperately need to convert some of them into wins or we’re obviously not moving up that table.
It’s a talented option but a more pricey one. The other two should be dirt cheap. No clue anymore how the treasury is looking but the expected income from this season very likely will be under the prognostic value they expected so things might be looking rough once again. We are in need of CL or EL miracles.
This what I’ve been saying as well for too long. You need those who are willing to set players up and have double digit assist over a year even if they hardly score. They are crucial for the team, and make everyone better just by being serviceable and unselfish. I think this value is really visible in Basque teams like Bilbao or Sociedad, more regionally, play more for the team and care less for personal spotlight
Too many primadonnas is a recipe for disaster.
I like players with hard/strong passing but Lukebakio is taking it to another level, he’s shooting people in their feet basically. Really weird to see, how he lost his composure and good choices completely since Mendi is gone…
We probably would have lost if they hasn’t gone down to 10.
A very disappointing performance after watching it back. We didn’t create much and very dodgy in defence again. We have struggled against 2 poor teams in celta and Cadiz.
It doesn’t inspire confidence for the derby next week. I worry for us again this season. This board keeps failing the club and changing the manager isn’t the answer. I hope at the end of this season we say a complete change.
We need a new everything at this club. New board, new set of players, especially younger ones, probably new manager again. This current setup is not working or ran its course.
Last season the europa league run saved the club from its worst season in like 20 years. In the league there’s been little chance.
We have some talented players but not getting the best out them due to us not being a team overall. Too many old players or players not good enough holding us back.
Agree with everything you say mate.
New manager has come in and same old story I’m afraid. Nothing has improved.
Fundamental changes needed at this club and in a lot more than the manager.
I’m not confident getting a result against :poop: next Saturday.
I agree mate. Well said.
I watched Girona yesterday and their highlights and they were incredible. I was a bit jealous of how well they played as a team, the pace they got, they create lots of chances and a joy to watch.
We lack all of that currently. Hopefully things change in future but we going to have to be patient. It’s a long road back at moment.
A bit tangential to the above posts, but is anyone shocked that a coach with the CV of Rafa Benítez is taking a team as decent as Celta into relegation? I don’t have much of an opinion of Rafa, as he hasn’t spent much time in since I started following football, so maybe his CV is just inflated?
Absolutely agree and said more or less the same this year.
No sense sidelining Pedrosa for the declined Acuna now.
Good points overall, but disagree about Lamela being selfish. He is far more likely to look for a good pass - although not always of course - than most other players.
One should also remember that an attacking player who has had to make do with the substitute role and who is under pressure to score more goals will invariably tend to try to take whatever chances he gets in the short time he is on the pitch.
