Finally!
what a terrible game from us but its good we got one back
Celta defender gift us one
YEN! Huge goal. Need to win though!
i hope this shows diego alonso that he needs to start most of the players hes subbed on today
Lukebakio has been really poor!
really good chance but rakitic blasted it over
suso is playing really well
Wtf
very soft pen
thats the right decision from var. very very small contact for him to fall over like that
Help me feel hopeful, because right now I donât want to watch anymore terrible football from this team.
Celta deserve a win but thatâs too damn soft to be a penalty, almost a diving.
Diego Drawlonso
If it had been Aspas up front at the end, that penalty would have been confirmed via better dark arts from Aspas.
My favorite thing about the end result there was that Celta has been saying theyâre getting robbed all season and even organized a pitido (whistling?) against the refereeing during todayâs match. This was a great example of how obsession over refereeing is a downward spiral that doesnât do anything good for the team.
The non-call by VAR was the right call in two ways: First, because the shirt grab was the only real contact (Navas was clearly just trying to hold his arm to stop from getting pulled down), and second, because the Celta player only fell when he realized he couldnât make it to the ball. So the ball wasnât even in play.
Was really annoying to her the ESPN Deportes announcers repeat like 12 times that it was a hugely clear penalty, no doubt at all, couldnât possibly be overturned, etc. I actually have a suspicion maybe they were watching on a tiny screen or something and couldnât appreciate the shirt grab.
Obviously annoyed at the quality of play, annoyed at not winning. BUT. I will say, so many times we have been beating Celta and have it slip through our fingers. So while a win would have been nice, at least I feel some consolation in the fact that Celta got of the same medicine. Having it in the bag and watching it slip through your fingers.
Better start seeing upward progress from the Drawlonso boys in the derbi next weekend, or Diego better start packing his bags. Canât climb the table averaging one point per game, even if one of those points was from Real Madrid.
I lost count the number of times he gave the ball away
I think no matter the CF we play, Ocampos will simply refuse to pass the ball. Even for a simple 1-2. I love Lucas, but that selfish play takes alot away from our attack. He isnât the only one, cause Lukebakio & Lamela do the same thing. This is why i opt for Suso, who is more inclined to be a provider. Iâd say the same for Oliver, but i can never find him on the pitch.
But letâs pretend all those attackers werenât selfish, what do YEN or Rafa offer outside the box going forward? Our attacks are too predictable and weâre always looking for the overlapping fullback to receive and cross. Thatâs why i understand Alonso starting Mariano, cause thereâs a chance he gives us something different. Problem is he hardly gets the service.
Also I guess itâs clear more than ever that Pedrosa should be the starter. Helps so much in getting us up the pitch and is a genuine threat outside the box with his pace & delivery.
Defensively, i got no idea whatâs going on back there, cause weâre always leaving gaps somewhere. If it wasnât for Nylandâs saves and Larsenâs point blank misses, this game woulda been long gone.
My conclusions, Bade is still in need of a partner and if Lukebakio doesnât return from the sunken place, our season is doomed.
What about that youngster Zaragoza that plays at Granada? Streets are saying his release clause is at âŹ14M.
3 things marked this match:
Lukebakioâs abysmal performance and stupid passing
YENâs lack of celebration for the goal he scored - last I checked he didnât play for Celta before, so what the fuck is that childish gesture?
Ref saved the night for us. The penalty was a 50-50 one where had it been against RM, Barca or Atletico it wouldâve been a penalty 100%. Risky move from Navas there.
