Goalkeepers are vital to every team who wants to proceed further. Your team can sweat to the last bone yet one little mistake from the goalie can toss away all the effort the team have shown. He must be there on critical moments to keep the momentum of the team.

Look at Kepa. He stopped one or two critical shots from Barça which gave RM a morale push, while holding the score at a managable level.

Nyland do not give me the same trust. He almost always conceeds from one on one positions, which was Bono’s area of expertise. He simply do not possess that Goalie factor.

This is the second match in a row that I couldn’t watch because of work-related stuff. Thanks for all the comments folks!

Hopefully we’ll get a momentum and start climbing… things don’t look good but not too bad either.

The transfers were definitely not on point. All of us knew that replacing Bono (the best GK in La Liga) with a below-average goalkeeper like Nyland was never a smart move. That is costing us a lot.

We could’ve at least gotten a La Liga average goalkeeper and gradually develop him - while also giving Dmitrovic fair chances.

Anyone have an estimate of the number of goals on Sergio Ramos shoulders, directly or indirectly? Granted, as a center back, that’s always going to be common, but I just feel like 60% of our received goals or more have Sergio Ramos’ name on them. Whether awarding spot kicks in dangerous places, being out of position, messing up the offsides trap, etc. Just feeling like there’s not currently a reason to keep Badé in reserves as much as we have.

And others have said it, but I’ll repeat: playing 3 center backs seems like a great option. 5-3-1? I dunno, with Acuña out of form, though, I’m not sure I want a 5-3-1. Maybe 3-4-3? 3-4-2-1? Anyhow, don’t ask me about tactics, but Badé, Gattoni, and Nianzou have to be screaming for playing time, and Sergio Ramos is screaming for a goal rather than screaming for a clean sheet, and therein lies the problem.

He has at least 6 goals to his name if I recall correctly.

Quintanar is of the level where just by having professional football players you should be able to win convincingly. Irrelevant of starting line up. I hope he plays every player that hasn’t played yet.
