rocketic strikes again
Rakitic rocket!!! What a fight back!
First positive out of the ordinary thing Nyland has done. A long throw to set up an attack.
What an awful decision. Ocampos fouled on our counter and the referee gives the free kick the other way. Embarrassing from Alcaraz
Juanlu did alright, last 10 minutes he was done tho. Navas coming on.
Assistant completely right. What kind of entrance was that.
I think we’d have a better chance to win this game with Lamela’s energy and pressing. Hope Alonso is not sidelining Erik now…
Got an assist, I thought he did very well. But it seems like every game he goes for about 60 or 70 minutes and ends up gassed and needing a sub.
I prefer that over him holding back. Fine by me and good assist indeed.
Very similar to Rayo. Complete give away to get behind. and lucky to come back in the end. Overall we created too little and can be very glad that Rakitic hit sailed in. Attacking play very limited except for the right side and strikers unreached mostly. Diego Alonso should have used his 5th sub as well. Plenty of players tired but might have been too late already after doing a double swap around minute 80.
Well… bit disappointed with the lack of forward intent, except a few strings when we were 2-1 down.
Good draw in the end from 2-0 hole. Although these are the games we should be winning and first time we not won at Cadiz in few years. Overall a disappointing result considering where we hoping to get to in the final destination.
Ok, I get it that Alonso wants to change the way we attack and play up front and he thinks Mariano may provide that more than YEN - but so far Mariano has not shown anything to suggest he can do the job, I don’t think he is the answer.
Chris Ramos would probably be a better option, based on this season and this match.
And sidelining Lamela is not the smartest move either from Alonso.
This was a winnable game for sure.
I’m worried we going to be too far off the top 6/7 to make a run at Europe this season. These draws are going to cost us dearly and keep us in mid table.
We have to go on a run soon or we will be too far behind in the new year.
Our points haul at this stage isn’t much different to last season at same stage.
I feel we are attacking better this season but our defence is pretty bad still. We just keep self destructing and gifting cheap goals to opponents. It has to stop soon or we will remain mediocre.
From all the attackers, only Ocampos was on the positive side of the spectrum.
Dodi in contrast to how he started so natural is struggling.
Mariano and En-Nesyri just running around hoping for scraps to reach them.
Suso was not good, touches, passes, nothing.
Rafa Mir, hardly any involvement besides another foul.
I thought Alonso got his defensive tactics wrong tonight. Whenever we had the ball Acuna and Juanlu
moved up the pitch leaving Ramos and Gudelj alone, both out wide at the back.
We were asking for trouble from a long ball played through the middle as proved with their 1st goal.
The other worry for me is that we saw all our 3 main attacking players on the pitch during this game and none of them came anywhere close to troubling the keeper.
I only caught the 2nd half, and it felt like the usual with our attacking play: lack of creativity. Mariano looks way off form so i’m not sure what he’ll provide anytime soon. Dodi has hit a rather early slump. Disappointed in Suso, back in his hometown, was quite ordinary. I’m grateful for Ocampos in picking up the slack these last few games.
Again, i missed the entire 1st half, so maybe there were some good signs. But this was a game we needed to make a statement.
I swear to a three back. It helps our centre and our backs.
Juanlu had some decent strings of play to cut inside too and completely open it, almost very dangerous but not quite. Soumaré covered a lot and won some good duels while decent in possession. Both are most positive yet again in my eyes.
I find it hard to see other improvements or potentials.
Also shows how desperate the team needed those hot games from Lukebakio, because without him bringing something special it is dull as ever. Lot of pressure on him, worrying trend.
I hate to keep looking at Orta and the transfermarkt again but it seems to come down to it, yet again.
Long time fan here, from Turkey. Been away for a long time as I found it agonizing to watch Sevilla under Lope and his first two successors.
Yesterday’s match against Cadiz gave me the exact thrill I had before Lope. Playing fast, fighting for the ball, all was on the positive side. Yet, it is the inefficient transfers that drag us down. Goalkeeper and striker department happens to be our weakest spots. I wonder why we have
not solved the striker problem for years. Yen can not run with ball for two meters. Mariano is a joke too.
And, Ocampos seems to have returned to his roots. He played like a star, the way he used to play back in his first two seasons in Sevilla.
I think he has been playing what he should be playing like for the last couple of games. He puts his name on the scoresheet again. His dribbles are a treat to eyes.
Ramos disallowed goal was a bad call
