When it comes down to it, I do not think Idrissi adds much quality. He had a fun preseason before.
He played a lot yesterday and missed his chances when he had them.
Neither Bono nor Nesyri travel to Germany and so it seems Sevilla are expecting incoming offers in the next few days. Last night’s game against the Equadorians was the first time, ever, that I switched off a Sevilla game. The lack of quality on display was really concerning, at least they seem to have picked up in the second half.
I don’t know how we score of Yen isn’t on this team.
Rafa Nation? Suso Nation?
Yeah, that’s actually a good convo to start in the transfers thread… assuming we sell YEN for, very optimistically, 30m€. Who is out there for 20m who equals his quality? In reality we are more likely to be selling him for 20m or less, so we are probably replacing him with someone worth 10-12m €.
Do you all know what the strikers market looks like? Who is exciting at that price point? Surely there is someone, but I do worry whether 20m purchase will make the magic we need up front.
PS - Hadn’t seen anyone here mention the Juventus rumor as potential destination for YEN. Have you all heard that one? How likely does it sound to you?
If these chances are not certain goals, I have little hope for upcoming season
Anyone got a link?
Can’t seem to find a stream for this one, but looks to be one of the stronger lineups we’ve seen in these friendlies. Rafa getting plenty of chances to prove himself.
Saw the goal on Youtube, but the comments talking about a wooden internet modem in the stadium, so its not looking promising. Stream taken down shortly after.
Goal was a horrendous pass back by Navas, Striker intercepted and Dmitrovic not looking good either.
It’s on ESPN+ for those of us in North America.
What is happening?
Just seeing the scoreboard 2-0. another defensive error.
Commentary saying, we got better chances and for the majority are better on the ball tho. I have no clue tho.
I’m watching on TV but I’ve got the youtube link on a tablet in the kitchen.
We have been a bit of a disaster in defence, two or more critical errors in the first half but the rest of our play is not too bad.
Mir gets a goal
Nice move there by Rafa and finished nicely.
Sevilla dominating since before their goal but the guy to put on was Lamela and I’m still waiting.
Delaney might have earned a reprieve with his performance in a new experimental role up there supporting attack and he deserved a goal.
Idrissi does around 90% correct but there’s never an end result, a bit like Sandro.
Gattoni clears up the easy stuff in style … but not the difficult.
It doesn’t look promising for the season and the Supercopa looks terrifying.
I feel once we enter august and sort out the squad for the new era coming, we will be better placed or at least know where we are. It’s hard to read into pre season results and especially this time as the squad is likely going to completely change.
As most of the squad is up for sale due to big debts at the club and with a board change looking likely who knows what the squad or management will look like. We do need a lot more young blood though and need to stop relying on aging players or players who been there to long and not came to much.
There’s a few to many older players hanging on and then we have players the club can recover good money back from. Let’s see what happens next week and beyond but I’m not going to worry yet.
Thankfully our fixtures to start the season aren’t the worst. Hopefully despite all the uncertainty we can get a few more new players in, sell the ones we need to and start okay.
Let’s hope for the best. The club is a rollercoaster ride but has the capability to sort itself out and rise again. Vamos Sevilla!
