From the team sheet I thought the team too weak and frankly a bit of an insult to Antonio Puerta. The idea should be to win the game in honour of his memory and not conduct an experiment.

I’m listening to the DirecTV commentators in Ecuador (Argentinian and Ecuadorian commentators), and they keep highlighting what Montiel is doing. Which is weird, because he’s not on the pitch.

I was extra surprised to see that most of the starters aren’t even on the bench. I’m pretty sure I read that UEFA/CONMEBOL are allowing for unlimited subs, so it only makes sense that you’d want to bring all your started to sit on the bench…but maybe the schedule is so packed this summer that Mendi just wanted to let them go home and rest with their families today…
We only got 3 cantera players on. How is this a B-team?

Literally the only players on the pitch who might start this year are Jordan (lord, I hope not), Dmitrovic, and Oliver. Papu, Nianzou, and Suso could all be role-players in the right circumstances…but certainly not starting XI players.

It’s not a B team it’s just a load of crap, Suso has had 2 shots too high for a goal in Rugby. Only Papu and Oliver have any play. And then look at the bench. What a disgrace. Just my opinion.

I think i always take “B-Team” the wrong way. I think of Sevilla B instead “bench players.

Another reason this lineup is an insult…we lined up a stronger squad against Ceuta on a pitch with no stands than we are lining up in a match being televised around the world, a match with tickets $$ sold to fans. Why not line up this B team agaisnt Ceuta and try and line up a decent squad for the Trofeo Antonio Puerta.

Well, not a lot of positives is there? Pretty mediocre. Juanlu still looking good. Jordan and Manu B. not causing a lot of trouble for Independiente in midfield.
I dunno, I think playing with three playmakers like Oli, Papu and Suso is just too much. I feel like they are too much alike and it would be interesting to see a Teca or Ocampos on one of the wings to give some runs around Isaac.

I get your point, but i think both starting XIs are fairly even. Both are missing our Int’l players anyway.
