Correa came on to score.
getting exciting now. Sow with some wonderful strikes. Mir’s shot got saved, and Idrissi failed. Many Chances
Idrissi another wonderful opportunity to lay it off, to win the game, instead goes for another terrible shot.
1-1.
Idrissi not like this! I really like his 1v1 game, but the point is to finish! At least put it on target! Everyone had their howler this week – we’ll blame the pitch! – but that 2nd opportunity was god awful.
Didn’t think I’d be this satisfied with the showing. We have to get sorted in defence, but if the right players are in midfield, I’m sure we won’t need as many GK heroics or panda-sized howlers to keep the opponents at bay.
We should be fine against most teams, but I still feel we need more from those players who can make the difference. Will Lamela & Tecatito be healthy enough to be x-factors? and Suso as well? cause I still feel his game could go to another level if he could string more games together. Also today i remembered that whenever Rafa gets his goal, he becomes a generous Rafa that shares the ball and makes runs. And Gattoni looked more assured, and alleviated some worries. He’ll get there one day. I hope.
Bring on Valencia !!
The pitch was a dust bowl.
Played well … Navas, Badé, Gudelj, Rakitic, Dmitrovic
Played in fits and starts Pedrosa, Ocampos
Played poor … Jordan, Suso, Oliver
Ivan Romero was just chasing shadows.
Rafa Mir scored about 3 minutes after coming on, well taken goal.
Sow had some good touches on left side of midfield?
Idrissi, I’m with @Edinho … finish the damn chances or pass the ball.
I’m happy with Salas, Juanlu and Bueno being in the squad, they have a lot of promise.
Tecatito had been suffering ankle pain, don’t know what happened to Nesyri.
So the folks that didn’t make the squad, YEN, Tecatito, etc. were all the ones that trained in the morning, while the rostered players stayed in the hotel. Confirmed by Sevilla’s kit man.
Safe to assume our starting XI on Friday:
Bounou
Navas - Bade - Gudelj - Acuña
Fernando - Rakitic
Ocampos - Suso - Tecatito
En-Nesyri
Only changes i can see are either Lamela/Óliver replacing Tecatito, or Sow getting Mendi’s trust early and taking either of the CM spots. Rafa could get the start as well, but i think Valencia trying to sign him may prevent that from happening.
Saw the highlights - seemed to have been a pretty dynamic match. Glad for those that watched it live in the stadium, I couldn’t catch it due to the timezone.
From the highlights and some of the comments here, I could say that we are not at our best in defense, so that’s a major worry. There was a ‘blacklist’ of Mendi shown in Vamosmisevillafc and it had Mir there too, but things can change with his latest goals, although I still don’t consider him to be the ‘serious’ striker that we need in the team, even as back-up for YEN. It was a good goal btw.
Idrissi still too naive for me… needs to sharpen up. Why is nobody talking about Sow though? He had some shots on goal and showed lots of potential from what I’ve seen in the highlights… hopefully just the beginning of something great.
With that said… on to Valencia! 3 points would definitely make up for a great start in this season’s La Liga.
This is quite probable, but I’d really like to see Sow in the lineup, maybe instead of Suso there.
This is messed up.
Apparently players like: Bade, Gudelj, Gattoni, Pedrosa, Delanye and Sow are still not registered for the new season.
Personally, i’m just trying to contain my excitement. Cause i know i’ll be talking about him all season.
Yeah, agreed. Trying not to put Marcão-like expectations on him, lol.
Every time I saw him touch the ball in the stadium, I swooned. Or rather, Sow-ooned
I wonder if Jesus Navas will see any fimiliar faces from way back when we play versus City in the Europa Super Cup, or if the oil money has already replaced every body in the meantime.
Pretty sure that’s a complete turnover. The only familiar faces will be pep, Fernando and some coaches.
I think except for the new players that we signed like Gattoni, Pedrosa and Sow, the others like Bade (new contract), Gudelj (new contract) etc. and the ones coming back from loans are also considered as new players so they have to be registered again for the new season.
Don’t think it’s anything to worry about. They want to make sure they wait as long as possible before enrolling new players because they both want to make sure they don’t have injuries in the meantime, and because they leave the coach as much discretion as possible to choose who gets a slot and who doesn’t after the preseason ends.
When was it? He’ll remember Kevin de Bruyne for sure,
That is true. They had two years together.
Does anyone know where did that Sevillista USA group pic in SF ended up? I’ll like to see it.
