At least wait until after the US trips ![]()
I’d say 1 more season is ok… they need to enjoy the Supercup match plus the CL group stages at least… and who knows, another EL as usual next season ![]()
Shendm, a question for you, how does this EL rank amongst the other victories?
I think that is a good question for everyone!
What do you think Chris?
It is the most special to me, just because it took such a drag of a season and made it special. Most were saying we should forget about it, and concentrate on the league…no chance of winning it. But we did and it will save our future.
Also, it vindicates the terrible Summer transfer window and shows that Monchi still has some magic.
I agree Chris, do you think we faced our toughest set of opposition on route to the final? Also Roma are a very good side with a top manager ofcourse.
Eindhoven always the most special, but this one isn’t far behind. Then maybe v. Inter, then v. Liverpool, then v. Benfica, then v. Espanyol, then v. Dnipro.
Dnipro was definitely least exciting.
I guess with the exception of the first, my ranking seems to have a strong correlation with how hard our rivals were, and therefore how impressive the win was.
Interesting observation, also making last night’s win that much more amazing:
Sevilla didn’t win a single match away from home in Europa League, and if I’m not mistaken, same was even true for Champions League group phase.
The RSP really is a boiling pot ![]()
Oh man, that was so much fun! I’ll try to capture the audio or share the video in a bit.
Chris
There have been celebrations going on all day. My kids wanted us to go but unfortunately we’re on our way to Morocco for the weekend.
This one has to be the best for me.
Just because we were having such a dreadful season and to turn it around in the way we have is amazing. Plus there was so much riding on the game as we lose and there would be no European football.
I also think United, Juve and Roma is the toughest path we’ve had by some margin to win it.
This one for me too for some of the reasons already posted, ie the crap start to the season we suffered with Lope & Sampi. we looked dead & destined for the segunda.
The 1st leg semi v Valencia some years ago was, until this year the best atmosphere i have ever experienced in the stadium. But the 2nd leg v Man- Ure surpassed that by a mile, We just knew from about an hour before kick off that we would win, same again for the game v Juve.
Who would have given us a chance of CL football next season back in December/January? Or even still being in La liga? I had resigned myself to the fact that there would be no European nights next year.for us.
Nice question Mark. As others have mentioned too, this one is special because of the massive ups and downs we’ve had this season.
From a very weak start, 3 manager changes, fighting relegation, eliminating Man Utd and Juve (considered EL favorites at the time) and not only avoiding relegation but fighting for the 7th position until the end… it really was special.
I’m writing a bit late, but this was my take on the match. Amazing atmosphere throughout the day. You saw many Roma and Sevilla fans around the city already in the early hours, generally a nice atmosphere. Otherwise, there were some problems with the Polish and Hungarian ultras, but nothing shocking.
Extremely good organization at the match, no waiting to enter the stadium or at the bars.
Sevilla once again showed who is the best in the Europa League, Mourinho can complain as much as he wants.
NADIE LA QUIERE COMO NOSOTROS!!
Amazing @JakobJarc !!!
In other news: Looks like Roma and Sevilla will be hit with some sort of sanctions. Sevilla less than Roma, but still some bad news there.
