Frankfurt doing Barca dirty. Love to see it.
Yeah Barca look so lost and also getting bullied out there. Great performance by Frankfurt.
It’s about time they get humbled. Thought they were prime Barca of 2008-09… easy fellas!
Quite a different team but they still have nightmares from the Valverde era with Roma and Liverpool. Also with Setien receiving the 2-8 humiliation. It’s not easy to recover from those debacles mentally, some of the players that suffered those nights are still there like Busquets, Alba, Pique, MATS, Frenkie, Dembele etc.
Barcelona doing what Barca does…get trounced by German teams.
On the other hand, it’s quite difficult to motivate some of those players to do well or go and win the Europa League. They’re not used to it and they might feel as they don’t belong there - that’s not true for some other players though like Adama Traore who is Conference league material
Xavi needs to focus on the defensive side and create that balance to keep his team consistent in perform well. He is doing a decent job so far nevertheless - the future looks bright for Barca.
West Ham in the semis… great journey by them so far in EL.
Barca have never won the Europa league before. It was a good chance for a first Europa trophy for club. As well as a chance for xavi to get his first trophy as manager and also for the new players. I think they will be quite disappointed from this performance.
I still think they will be fine and grow stronger in time but maybe this is a reminder they still quite a bit a way from getting back to their glory days. I doubt it will ever be like the Messi era for them again. They will probably get back to top at some point but nothing like the dominance of before.
Just found out that there were no clubs representing La Liga in the Conference League. That is because Villarreal ended up 7th, but they won the EL last season so they qualified directly for the CL = no spots in ConfL.
West Ham through! Great run for them and playing some super football. Rangers into extra time with braga but with extra man. Barca out despite late rally.
Every league game in the Camp Nou is full of tourists. The difference last night was that the tourists did not wear the 10 of Messi but their own teams shirts.
Imagine this happening in your stadium
It could never happen in RSP. I don’t blame Barca for selling so many away tickets but the Barca fans showed total disregard for their team in a bad situation, should be a wake up call for the fans but won’t be, they need to turn up and support the club but no they are too ‘special’.
Marseille is bound for some big confrontations tomorrow, actually they already started. Feyenoord known for some of the most ludicrous hooligans, ravaging cities and historical monuments in other cities. While Marseille is known for one of the most heated fanbases themselves, for and against their own team. Really no hope in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. These guys are beyond football. Hope all goes well.
Have to say I was walking home from work tonight, about two miles from Ibrox, and I could hear the Rangers fans singing after full time.
Phenomenal performance and achievement for that team to play so well against many bigger, better equipped squads. I just hope the fans behave in Seville, especially after they trashed Manchester city centre in the 2008 cup final.
Let it be a lesson to Sevilla, they didn’t even have a striker on the pitch.
Marseille couldn’t overcome the defeat in Rotterdam. Senesi has to have had a stand out performance. Getting a lot of recognition. So if you wanna see, a defensive performance of one of our targets, rewatch this one. Quite impressive for Rotterdam and Rangers, two forgotten teams coming back after 15-20 years to the final stages of Europe. I think it’s awesome.
Unlucky for Rangers. Is Aaron Ramsey Rangers’ Anthony Martial?! Oddly enough there are fireworks going off in Glasgow now, I’m guessing they were on a timer?
Unlucky indeed, but god damn Frankfurt in the end after beating Betís, Barca, Westham, can be justified as the winners. Defeating some of those dirty giants, with real good showings. Respect to them.
Unlucky Rangers, did themselves proud. Frankfurt probably deserved it on the night though and certainly over the course of the tournament beating the sides they did.
What a great job Oliver Glasner has done. I’ll be keeping a close eye on them. Have the potential to be a real German and European force. Got to love their fans and the passion.
