Winter 2023 Transfer Thread

Thank Lope for that, guy can really complete his downfall by heading across the divide, can’t wait.

I wanted to name Martin Terrier but he just ruptured his ligament. Go for Gabigol if you have the cash and aboubakar if you don’t, both are in mid season form.

:Meanwhile Januzaj lies in the corner of RSP counting his wage packet as no one wants him:

Waiting for more Sevilla signings be like…

We’re apparently interested in Timothy Weah, American winger for Lille

Someone posted on Twitter that Monchi told Sampaoli no more signings. I don’t believe that though.

Timothy Weah would be great. Can play as a winger or a striker. He’s got some pace too. Would be a bit pricey I would think.

In my best British voice, this would be a pisser!

If I were Sampaoli I’d rage quit, right there on the spot. With an aging and unbalanced squad you loan a 22 year old novice, shunt a Cantera and say business is done? Pathetic

Keep an eye out for the shipload of dross coming back at the end of the season, Augustinsson and Idrissi will be hard to move along with Januzaj. Oscar and Lopes are worth a shot since they have done decently on their respective loans and no one would come for them.

Thing I don’t get is have Sevilla really lost their draw? Benfica have been executing Sevilla’s blueprint with massive success. Nunez netted them a huge profit and Enzo Fernandez could really go for more than 100m, they just added FM wonderkid Schjelderup for 10m.

Wolves are set to sign Sarabia for 5m, why can’t we do that…

Makes no sense

I mean, we also have to be reasonable… being in a relegation battle makes us both a less attractive destination and therefore more expensive destination (ie. if you had the choice of a middle table side or a side fighting for it’s life and the price were the same, any agent would tell you to avoid the potential of being blamed for a relegation as well as the potential you’re being passed off in a fire sale the next summer)

Anyhow, I do think right now is an expensive time to be buying… But it’s obviously better to buy expensive than to end up screwed out of this season and having to sell half the squad in second division.

I have always rated Sarabia and would love to see him back. But at this time I don’t feel it would be the right move to sign another 30yr+ player on high wages.

I agree with this. Saying goodbye to Navas and Rakitic will be hard emotionally given their history with our club, but they shouldn’t be difficult to replace.

Bono’s exit will hurt because he’s amazing, but if we can sell him, roll with Dmitrovic and use the funds from the sale on other positions, then I think we should.

I don’t have any concerns about losing YEN. He’s loyal to the club, and I appreciate that, but his inconsistency is frustratingly exhausting. Let’s sell the moment the summer window opens.

Agree with what you say @RyanMoore agents and teams will see Sevilla coming a mile off, only players willing to face relegation will be interested in coming to the club this season without big wages and other reassurances.

I think Sevilla need to be smart, get in one or two (or five or six…) fighters ready to work and fight for their place in the team and for the club on the field. Re-enforce the core of the team and getting planning for a new, scrappy, budget team next year because Sevilla aren’t likely to be signing any big names for a while in their predicament.

Rumors of two signings coming tomorrow, one of which is ocampos. The other a left footed center back.

Kike Salas looks to be on the way to Tenerife on loan and Januzaj is rumored to Valencia.

All according to ED and other outlets.

Anyone have Joaquin Caparrós’ number? I mean as a player, not as a coach. We could use someone like him on the pitch… Landmark winter signing!

So, we let him go for half a season and got 3 million in return? Not a terrible deal. Hopefully he can get up to speed soon.

We’ve seen this Ocampos deal coming a mile away, but it’s only to be made official today, 17 whole days after the transfer window opened.

I asked a similar question in the summer… “if Isco was free this whole time, why sign him in August?”

Sevilla already had to do a lot of convincing to players, even in the good times. So it will be difficult to get anyone to sign in the current state of the club.

I think that having Ocampos is good, better than nothing. He wasn’t good enought for the champions league team, we were all happy that he is gone in the summer, but now we aren’t fighting for champions league…

I hope that Dijku is next in the line, I read some rumours on the twitter, but better be fast.

I’ll only be satisfied by this window if we get a midfielder. Ain’t no way you expect us to do anything with Fernando, Gudelj, Rakitic, Jordan & Oliver. Unless they have faith in Papu… :face_exhaling:
