Yeah it will be a tough test for sure. We have a few days to get our energy levels back. Will be interesting to see if lope makes any changes for next game or goes with same team that won us first 2 matches.
I think we may need to make a couple of changes. Maybe, in the attacking position. We will see. We have Oliver, munir and de jong as options to start. En Neysri has impressed in last few games so wi probably start again.
Extra time would have been exhausting for the team, glad we did it without extras.
What we lacked was the clinical finishing and we going through the semis without a proper finisher is something. We cannot rely on Ocampos’ magic too longer though.
Yeah this summer window we need a top 20 goal striker. Maybe 2 strikers. That’s the area we need to strengthen on in summer and get a new playmaker for Banega. We light at right back so need one and cover at the centre back position too.
Exciting times for us though. We have a great squad and good manager and just need to add more quality to it.
Could be. It’s just baffling how Oliver doesn’t get any minutes… I think he’d do well in games like these as he plays better in narrow spaces, compared to Suso for example. Suso is very 1 dimensional, not sure if you said or someone else, the right wing Nolito.
At least 1 decent striker, loan YEN or Luuk out, I’d prefer loaning out YEN as Luuk is better with crosses in overall and score more damn goals next season!
One of Suso’s better games, he had a mid-range effort that was well matched by Patricio and was lively throughout, using his left leg to cut inside and swing the ball into the box or to spray it to the opposite wing. Him, Ocampos and Navas on the right really overloads defenses.
He would be a viable weapon tagainst teams that sit back and absorb pressure through the middle, but he may not be as effective against Man Utd, Munir would be a better option.
Could Diego Carlos have lowered his price tag or better yet killed off any interest by conceding that penalty? Just wondering
I also think Munir should start instead on the left and have Ocampos play on the right with Navas.
As for Diego Carlos and Kounde, it would be wiser for them to stay for at least another season with us. Ocampos wouldn’t have issues adapting to any team, especially if they play attacking football, but I think he will also stay for another year. Ocampos and Kounde are more likely to stay than Diego Carlos though, but that should be ok. We’d have Kounde, Gnagnon and Sergi Gomez - a replacement for Diego Carlos will be needed, but if Kounder keeps the good form and even steps it up the next season, it will be easier to find a pair to complement him and they would adapt quicker as well.
I notice that Sevilla took the knee before the game last night. We’ll see how that goes when fans are allowed back in. In the North of England it would take half an hour to clear the pitch of items thrown at them.
Yeah Suso played a decent game, he had a good assist to send Nesyri away, but with a left footed volley only Munir would have scored that one.
En-Nesyri has his strengths for sure, if you look back at where he came from on his own pitch in the second goal against Roma, he beat 4 defenders had faith in Ocampos to get the ball there and he was there perfect timing, jumps up to keep the ball low and finish it cleanly. Such good goal. But he is far from the striker we need, and would be best for his development to play 40 games again next season in a team like maybe Getafe with some space ahead to dive into.
My hope is on Belotti now for our main striker spot. I also read rumours that we might involve Carlos Fernández in a trade with Campaña… not sure if I like that, I wanna see Carlos Fernandez atleast a year in our team if they sell him, they don’t have the faith he becomes the top we need. But then it wouldn’t make sense to keep any of our strikers because they all don’t have that and at least Carlos is quite versatile, youthfull and Sevillista. Don’t let him escape.
