In Germany, every team is required by law to have 51% of the club’s shares owned by the fans
It would be cool Tyler, even if it was just a micro-share.
I bought into the Caledonian Braves at 2 shares. It isn’t totally finalized yet but I am excited to have 2 shares of a professional club!
Castro is “demoted” if you will, but I came across this reminder of one of his biggest accomplishments while President.
This was my photo in the RSP 11 years ago.
Not catching your drift…?
Since we have a new President, have there been any rumors of a main shirt sponsor? IIRC Castro was holding out for a bigger deal. At this point we are needing all the finances we can get. We are leaving money on the table.
I saw something on Twitter (I think) proposing that they take a play from the Roma playbook and issue shirts with NO8DO on the front. I actually sorta like the idea, but also happy to have the chance of buying shirts with no sponsor.
That would be cool.
The much needed stadium remodel was accomplished under Castro.
That’s the one.
As the World Turns is back with another all-new session in the Sevilla FC board room. Senior has demanded a board meeting scheduled the week before the holy week so he can once again scold the current board for what he feels is a lack of effort to bring in players who can turn the season around.
This seems to be another stunt for Senior to get some publicity during a media-heavy week in Sevilla. It’s a shame that he can’t support instead of throwing more descent. I’m getting annoyed with his crybaby attitude.
That’s what I mean, there isn’t shit he could do differently if his name was on the president’s office door. By saying this shit to the press and social media does nothing but create further discord.
Very in depth look at the inner conflict in the boardroom and a glimpse into what’s in store for the club in the near future.
Is it possible to cope the article here? There is a paywall
Here it is. You should be subscribed to the Athletic though The absolute best sports publication out there!
Guys please share this in a PM. So much potential copyright violations.
Alternatively you can use a site like 12ft.io to remove the pay wall.
Sorry!
So the club has secured a 108 million euro loan to be paid over the course of 10 years to settle some short term debts.
Taking on debt is never a good thing, but the club sure is selling it as such.
How this club will secure funding for a stadium project seems far fetched to me.
Thoughts?
Taking on debt is good ONLY when used for investing on something that can potentially bring a lot more in return.
Taking on debt to pay off other debts… close to financial crisis and not a good sign for the seasons to come.
Are we better off selling the club to a super-rich owner at this point? Why hold the club hostage and keep managing it poorly?
Screw the incapable managers that have brought us to the point of fighting for relegation and with nothing to look forward to. According to rumors, the plan is to be in a maintenance mode for the 3-5 seasons so come, aspiring nothing. Let alone reaching the level of Atletico or similar.
This all started when the fuckface Castro said we are going to aim finishing 4th for countless seasons in a row… aiming low always backfires in this stage.
it is.
Money will come from the Andalucian government, retail outlets and sponsorship. It can be done but I doubt the club have sufficient business acumen to get a good deal out of it. It would be better to stick with the current stadium until they have money spare.
