The best signing ever…

Where do you think Mr. Bean got his funny walk from?

Djiku is a last minute rumour, I just thought I’d get a rumour going before the market closes and this thread with it.

It seems that we are battling with Southampton and Wolves for Djiku.

We definitely need 1 more player - either a CB or DM. Ideally a DM, but another CB is still good.

If you think about MarcĆ£o and Nianzou, I actually think he did quite well in CB (just bad luck with MarcĆ£o). And I honestly just don’t know what better strikers we are looking for. I think between Rafa and YEN, we are pretty solid, we just can’t get good balls into them other than predictable garbage from the right wing, the ol’ Jesus Navas passes that haven’t worked in years. Not to say the planning was good beyond CB, but based on that weird, unhinged performance before the Sevilla fans at AlmerĆa, I’m actually wondering whether Monchi is back to another meltdown like when he retired the first time…

I know, I know, I’m speaking out of both sides of my mouth re: Dumb as Rocks Rafa Mir. But even I have to admit that he’s not a bad striker compared to what we could afford on the market…

News conference was real, but first report was that it was about Ocampos culebrón from yesterday. Haven’t had a chance to listen to the full press conference yet. Hoping for one last dose of Monchi magic today (surprise $50m offers for Rafa Mir from English Championship or Third tier, given that in English they clearly have no financial limits these days…and given that Rafa Mir couldn’t compete in Premiership)

lol… yeah, i like your positive take. and im sure im colored by the latest loss and bracing for the tidal wave of Barca and Man City. to be fair, I’ve thought Mir has looked decent if not super inspiring.

and yes, no more meltdowns please.

Centerback has been complete with the Nianzou signing I think. They promoted both Carmona and Salas to the first team (the later floating between First team and SAT).

The thing about this market that I just can’t follow is the Isco and Januzaj signings. Both were free, why did they happen so late. Maybe the Januzaj wasn’t in the plans until Tecatito went down, but Isco. Why wasn’t he in earlier?

Why are we still talking about striker? Dolberg is that dude right?

Nothing made sense in this transfer window… literally, nothing.

Nianzou is the only exception and the only Monchiesque signing for the years to come. Everything else is crap.

I’d be impressed w/ this window if we were going for the Europa League. The squad is still good enough to get 4th place, but the Big 3 is staying intact this season.

Damn… Monchi told us everything we needed to know long ago.

Of course Marcao is the happiest one. He’s getting rehabilitated for free, chilling playing PS5 while getting paid - no one can criticize his play because he isn’t playing. Genius!

Are we really better than Villarreal this season?

Don’t forget - you have a very thin CB department and only 1 solid DM for the 4-3-3 formation, and he’s 35 + had an ankle surgery earlier this year.

So no CB or DM in the last day?

Just watching gol tv here in salamanca and the pundits opinions are that there is nobody else coming in

On paper, were we ever better than Villarreal for the last 3? Lopetegui can still run a better league campaign than Emery.

I hate to say it but both Villarreal and :poop: look to have better players than us now. Especially in the attacking sense. They both have good coaches as well. Now our defence has weakened we aren’t getting 4th place. We haven’t done enough in the transfer window and I’m not confident lope can get any more out of this squad.

We still have a very aging team which is worrying. We have weakened from last season so getting top 4 seems a bridge to far for this season.
