Summer 2022 Transfers Conversation

I think it is like 17 million in wages they still have to shed in order to register Kounde.

Gaƫtan Laborde of Rennes (28 yo) added to the striker rumor list.

Also Cavani has landed in Spain, waiting for business with his new club to come through. Most likely Valencia and if not then Villareal. Dont think we are in the running for him.

Him as a person is so admirable and incredible, soft voiced, extremely polite and always smiling. And then on the field he’s a Monster. Seems like the best guy you could wish for to have in the team.

He’s two footed atleast, that’s a big plus already. And decently agile. Much more I don’t know.

In before we get Mariano of RM :stuck_out_tongue:

Espanyol want Rafa Mir to be included in the RDT deal. Monchi first proposed Munir, but reportedly they want Mir instead.

Although i’m a fan of Rafa, I’d still except that deal. It would still be a developing season for him, while RDT is more of the finished article and would provide much more in the buildup. This all depends if Mir accepts the deal in the first place. And i don’t see that happening.

I understand he’d be on fairly high wages but I don’t understand why Sevilla haven’t talked to Cavani. He’ll press, score goals and give his all on the pitch. Even as a 60 minute player, he’d be a great option for a.year or two… :man_facepalming:t4:

Would gladly take RDT swap for Rafa. Having said that, Monchi doesn’t do that kind of deal. If anything maybe he’d give YEN, and even then, just doesn’t seem like the way of the Monchi

This ā€˜striker-problem’ keeps make me think back of the days we had Bacca-Gameiro-Aspas or Ben Yedder-Muriel-Silva at the same time, with a quick Jovetic and Immobile inbetween. Those where different ā€˜striker-problems’, haha.

Rony Lopes reported to be joining our old friend Adil Rami on a year loan to Toyes in the French top division.

So wait a minute… RDT has not trained or played since June with Espanyol?

Is he in the proper physical condition to even start playing - or we should wait for a couple more months until he’s ready like Marcao and the likes?

The latest rumor is that we could agree on a loan with an obligatory purchase option at the end of 2022-23 with Espanyol… but why even take a player that is not match fit in this time of the season?

We saw it coming… who didn’t anyway? Barca have asked Kounde to lower his salary in order to register him for the 2022-23 season. L to the O to the L!

An interesting fact is that the players we criticize the most and we don’t want them to play, have the highest value of the entire team. Ocampos (25m), YEN (25m) and Jordan (22m).

After a long time, we also don’t ,have export material that we can sell for a lot of money this team is quite old without any potential. Our best players are all 30+ years old. So it will be hard to grow as a club in the following seasons.

Exactly, but this is not out of a sudden right? we’ve been transitioning into this old squad over the Lope era. They suddenly wanted only experienced players nearing 30s and a broad bench instead of actual talent. Surprise surprise, 2 years later and all your value has evaporated.

Also Ocampos after his ā€˜good’ overperforming year, was valued around 50m, Jordan 30m and Yen 40m. So yeh, something went down the drain, by keeping them to long, and the others part we know.

I saw a graphic detailing that La Liga has the oldest average squad age of the top 5 European leagues.

RM and BarƧa are kind of bucking that trend and appear to be planning (& purchasing) the next generation.

Again I see it as another issue with Lopetegui’s system. If he wants older, experienced heads then there’s little to no resale value of the squad when they’re mostly 30+. Also they don’t have the legs to compete with more energetic, faster teams when they enter European competition.

We don’t want to be a selling team, but then theres risk of not selling when they have had an exceptional year and this happens. And they fall back to below mediocrity. Which honestly, this far down I didn’t expect them to fall either. Unfortunately, so I guess I can’t blame them.

So with Rony heading to France (hopefully they are paying his salary), that should free up some money to register another player assuming we can find one. Does anyone know if we can qualify for a salary cap adjustment since Tecatito will not be available this first half of the season?

Barcelona are close to taking Luismi on loan with an option to buy. Fine with a loan but I hope the option to buy isn’t true
