Sevilla kit Talk

Sevilla has had a history of joining up with these fringe brands. Warrior, Li-Ning both weird companies. Anyway, the kits look promising minus the white one. Basic on Basic.

To me there’s not much artistic inspiration in the kits, although the 2 and 3 are nicely coloured there’s not a lot you can do with white. The white kit photo has to be a joke/fake or a mock-up.

I sure as hell hope so. It just looks like the ones you wear under a shirt and tie but with a shield on it.

Ugh, more leaks seeming to confirm the white kit is as bland as the original leak suggested.

Is it too much to ask for the design we saw floating around last year that was maroon and gold with the Giralda on it?

Don’t be greedy, lol. We got rid of Nike, which was a total curse for all our recent kits. One step at a time.

hah It’s not like Warrior or New Balance or even La Ning or whatever the f it was pumped out great designs either.

What is our most recent “best” kit? 2010-2011 Away? That kit was awesome.

I’m going to go with this guy:

Also a fan of some of the Joma kits with the NODO and some Giralda and other local references.

The clown kit? No me gusta!

Joma was the best designs, quality kind of sucked, but hands-down best designs.

06-07 the best for sure.
Can’t think of second best, all other years look meh or “better than meh but still meh” to me.

I’ll also flag this one. Would NEVER have bought one in a million years, which is my prime criteria for kits, but this one has some special memories associated with it for the team, and the lace-up neck also harkens back to the olden days of football, so it’s sort of a double-nostalgia kit for sevillistas:

Wait, THIS one?!?

I dunno, the paint stripe was pretty dang hideous. But then again, like I said above…nostalgia counts, so I’ll give you that. But that paint splash even looked ugly back then, and in retrospect just looks hideous.

And as a nomination of worst Sevilla kit ever…for your consideration, the ugliest kit ever:

However, I think this kit does bring me back to Diego Capel’s glory days, so there’s some nostalgia there as well.

I know we like to shit on Nike, but I finally got my hands on this year’s shirt, and it’s really well made. Fits like a charm. Looks a lot better in person.

Also, the store threw in this book. Looks like I’ve got some reading to do!

Fair enough. As a first principle here, any Sevilla kit that one owns is an awesome Sevilla kit.

A number of years ago for Monchi’s goodbye match, I used permanent marker to cross out “Malaysia” to make the kit say “Visit Monchi in Rome”. It was an ugly kit to begin with, and with permanent marker scribbled on it, it became totally unusable after that match, but to me it was still an amazing kit. Eventually I begrudgingly trashed it. Everything is relative.

I have this one. Makes a fat kid look even fatter, but Diego Capel running around like a crazy man made that one glorious.

Off topic but found this interesting. Bohemian FC of Ireland designed new kits, inspired by the Dublin bus seats design…

I did buy their Bob Marley jersey that they

put out last season.
