Sevilla FC 2-1 Rayo Vallecano de Madrid | Primera Division

I’m glad these aren’t that good either! All to play for now!

Apparently lots of coach think they are some kind of tactical genius,

Like Amorim play Bruno in DM and Carrick just do the obvious thing and team immediately bounce back

Exactly. Im not saying Isaac is holy or free of any critisism. But play players in their goddamn positions or in the right formations. We have looked so much better when playing 4-4-2 with 2 strikers. We dont have a striker who suits playing 4-2-3-1 right now. Maybe Ure can be that guy going forward, but when our lineup consist Oso and Sierra as wingers, play with 2 strikers.

If Vargas or Ejuke plays, then you have much more flair and creativity.

Just as we got a bit used to refs not giving cheap fouls in the World Cup (most of them). Now we’re back to silly La Liga refs and their standards
Giving fouls even when a player slips and literally no one touches him. Ffs!

Handball before that. But no var involved

I agree. At first view I thought it wasn’t, but after the replay it’s a clear red

There is a touch, though slightly but it’s a touch and should be a pen. No calmness of Guridi this time though. Peque to shoot?

Vamos

Wow.. didn’t expect we’d get the 3 points with one man down.

Amazing start if we can hold on to the win

Nice dive and legitimate penalty cause there are slight contact. Nice penalty.
That’s a real dramatic first game.

Prior to that match, the last time Sevilla FC was awarded multiple penalties in a single game was on September 15, 2015, in a 3–0 UEFA Champions League group stage victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the RamĂłn SĂĄnchez-PizjuĂĄn:
First Penalty (47’): Converted by KĂ©vin Gameiro to make it 1–0.
Second Penalty (49’): Taken by KĂ©vin Gameiro, who struck the crossbar.
Third Penalty (66’): Converted by Éver Banega to make it 2–0.
In domestic La Liga play, Sevilla had not received two penalties in the same match since January 22, 2006, in a 3–2 away victory over Racing de Santander (both converted by FrĂ©dĂ©ric KanoutĂ©).

Is this really correct?

I can imagine Rayo feel like they’ve been robbed. They deserved to win that by at least a couple. Pretty awful first game, hopefully the only way is up :folded_hands:

Also Isaac should be sold, he runs around like a headless chicken, but with even less end product.

To be fair we were much better in the 2nd half. They were better in first.

We deserved at least a draw but we kept going and got our rewards. We had better stats in the end.

A shame about Salas but apart from that the perfect start. If been a long time since we won in opening match day. It feels good.

Now we need to improve squad before window closes! Vamos!!
