Back down to earth but it was expected when you’re playing one of the big teams. Shows the gulf in quality and tactics. Next up Espanyol and Valencia which is more our level. Just need Navarro to do his job and get the players the team needs. One winger, striker and midfielder at the very least.

All things considered I think 6 points from these first 3 games is more than most could have hoped for. 3 points against Rayo, 1 against Athletic and then maybe we could have fought 1 point home against Atletico, was my initial thoughts when looking at the schedule. So no panic yet imo.
And equally important the conclusions from the first 2 games still seem to stand. The new guys are filling in nicely and LGP looks to have managed to implement some of his ideas. Yes, it seemed like the refs were good to us against Rayo and Athletic, but that doesn’t take much away from the perfomances. And yes, those 30 minutes against Atleti last night did not look good at all in terms of defensive play (and with Vlacho having an off-day certanly didn’t help), but at least there is room for some optimism still.

The thing that gets me is we probably expected to have a point, maybe two from the first three games of the season. The fact we already have six is a minor miracle, and yet I think people have been some what spoilt a little bit.
We got beaten by Atlético Madrid… A far far superior squad to us in every single way, and yet we are going on like we have been turned over 4-0 by Oviedo… (Wait a second!). But do you get what I mean? I think a few expectations need to be tempered a bit here. We have had two really good and somewhat surprising wins. A defeat last night wasn’t exactly a shock. But we are far ahead of the game than I expected we would be already this season.
As I said the other day, these games against Atleti, Real Madrid, Barcelona are not our game in a sense. Yes if we can eek out the odd draw or surprise win then great… I will be more than happy to lose these games this season as long as we are beating the likes of Elche, Levante, Alaves, Malaga etc and distancing ourselves from those teams at the bottom we are in direct competition with then I will see that as major progress this season.

Didn’t watch the game but not surprised with the result against an Atleti side light years ahead of us.
Six points from three games is still a decent start to the season and more points than I expected.
Hopefully now get a few more players through the door and focus on getting results against the sides we can realistically beat and steer clear of any relegation trouble.
I think in terms of the new signings like Ure. We need to give them time to integrate into the team. Playing in Sweden is totally different to Spain.
