Segunda Division & Lower

I actually feel for who ever wins the play off. 20 days to prepare for a new season in a new division.

See I’m the opposite. I want Girona to go up. But think Zaragoza will :joy:

I’d like for Zaragoza to go up only because of their stadium’s goal nets lol

In fairness I had watch several games there while I was working in Lloret de Mar before the City group took over. I don’t personally hold it against the club either.

Stupid red from Elche player in the first half, but Zaragoza didn’t take advantage of that.

I’ve not been able to find a way to follow Deportivo La Coruna :frowning:

Looks like I’ll just be watching the live text updates.

I can’t believe this!

Elche qualified to La Liga after beating Girona in the second leg of the play-off final 0:1 - the first match finished 0-0. Congrats to Elche! See you in La Liga in 2020-21.

Alright then nice, Congrats to them. Might give me another chance to catch a Sevilla game live next season.

Holy cow. What a fall for a team that was in champions league as recently as 7 years ago.

Well they sold their soul to some Arabian sheik as well. Those seem like a solution with all the promising money. Untill they got bored of it move on for a new interest and looking for a new hobby. Plenty of clubs going to the garbage.

Yeah the Cardiff cat seemed like a huge dick. My club here DC United got bought by Erick Thohir, a Malaysian businessman that also owned Inter. He got the stadium built and then sold quickly - i’m assuming for a profit.

I know MLS is not top European leagues level, but is there any DC United player or MLS player in overall who could do decently for Sevilla? @ChrisLail

I don’t follow enough to be an expert by any means. There are some I’m sure, but it’s such a hit or miss with MLS players playing in other leagues. If I had to guess who could slot in as a player (maybe not starter):
Ezequiel Barco - an exciting young (21) Argentinian
Alejandro Pozuelo - ex Betico
Valentin Castellanos - another young Argentinian
Diego Rossi - Uruguay - Maybe as a backup?
Carles Gil - possibly as a backup (former Deportivo player)

Hypermotion Heating Up: Racing Stays Strong, But the Pack Is Tight!

Hey y’all, was diving into the results of La Liga Hypermotion and figured I’d use some GenAI to summarize what I found, what stood out to me, etc. So yeah, no one give me too much credit, but just was curious where things stood, so figured other may be as well.

The race for La Liga promotion is intensifying as we delve deeper into the Hypermotion season. While Racing currently holds a firm grip on the top spot with 48 points, their lead is anything but insurmountable, with a fierce battle raging behind them.
Almería and Mirandés, both sitting on 44 points, are hot on Racing’s heels, ready to pounce on any slip-ups. Mirandés, in particular, have been a revelation this season, punching above their weight and proving to be a serious contender.
A Crowded Field:
The fight for playoff positions is equally congested, with Huesca, Elche, Oviedo, and Levante all within touching distance. Huesca and Elche, tied on 43 points, have shown remarkable consistency and are proving to be tough opponents. Oviedo, with their rich history, are eager to return to the top flight and are steadily building momentum. Levante, relegated from La Liga last season, are aiming for an immediate return, but they’ll need to find consistency to secure their spot.
Granada’s Pursuit and Sporting’s Ambitions:
Granada, another team relegated from La Liga, currently sits in 8th position and are trying to find their rhythm in the second tier. They have the quality to mount a promotion challenge, but they need to string together a series of wins to close the gap. Sporting Gijón, a historic club with a passionate fanbase, are still in the mix, but they face an uphill battle to secure a promotion playoff spot.
Struggling at the Bottom:
At the other end of the table, Cartagena are in dire straits, languishing at the bottom with only 15 points. They face a tough fight to avoid relegation. Tenerife and Racing Ferrol are also in precarious positions and will need to find form quickly to escape the drop zone.
Key Takeaways:

  • Tight at the Top: The top three teams are separated by just four points, promising a thrilling title race.
  • Playoff Battle Royale: The race for the playoff spots is incredibly close, with several teams vying for a chance to compete for promotion.
  • Relegation Concerns: Several historic clubs are facing the threat of relegation, adding another layer of drama to the season.
    Looking Ahead:
The second half of the Hypermotion season promises to be a captivating spectacle. Expect twists and turns, dramatic finishes, and plenty of nail-biting moments as the teams battle for promotion and survival. Will Racing maintain their lead? Can Mirandés continue their impressive run? Will Granada find their form and climb the table? These are just some of the questions that will be answered in the coming weeks. One thing is certain: this Hypermotion season is one you won’t want to miss!
