The basic rules of economics have not changed.
Access to financing has definitely improved though. I guess the question is, will the new amenities help the longterm growth of the team? Can they land larger sponsor deals, can they fill the corporate suites, can they grow the amount of the season tickets? If the answer to those questions is yes, then build the stadium.
I don’t think they can sell more season tickets but maybe they can bring in more revenue from improved hospitality etc.
My guess is they’ll look to build not just a stadium but an entire complex with shops, bars, a hotel and underground parking. The nervion complex has just put a 3rd floor on the corner building and they get along great with the club.
They’ll have to excavate down a long way though and that is the expensive part. Once you get the foundations and first floor, going up is straightforward, it’s the excavating down where you never know what you’re going to hit and the metro already runs alongside about 10 metres down.
I still think they keep and improve as much as possible the current structure.
Beautiful…
I still think they should stick on a third tier and roof the entire stadium. A 60k plus RSP would be special.
