100 minutes, 42 seconds. The last 30 minutes were nothing but pain.

That is a massive win for us. Hopefully can push on from here now and it will give us confidence going into some big up and coming games.

Vamos!

Yep huge win and well deserved. We were braver today and it paid off. Let’s hope we can build on it. I thought the players played their hearts out and we showed better quality today.

A shame about Lamela’s red and hope fernando is ok as well!

Huge win Dopeytegui, 3 points thank you, now fuck off and disappear.

These 2nd halves really expose our lack of physicality. When we try to bunker down, we hardly put up a fight in midfield, and we don’t have the pace for the counters.

I didn’t watch the game but obviously not perfect from us but it at least gets us off the mark. In the situation we’re in you take any win as it comes. Got to start somewhere!

I’m just happy that Carmona shows us what he did, just basically winning the game purely by himself. Where non of the players that should carry the game do it, he forced it upon them, at 20 years of age. Give him 50 more games in the league and europa league when we eventually return there, and he will be a quality pure bred Sevilla defender. Just this by itself gives me some faith.

Why Lamela doesn’t pass that to kill the game professional annoys me like hell. So we almost struggle to close it out. It’s disturbing.

Oliver and Isco worked out as hoped, found eachother well. Ocassionally slowing it down, but then again speeding it up by a quick turn or pass. Just something non-monotone, which is needed.

I could complement Jordan being usefull. but i’m just done and I prefer to just not.

The results is just stalling the inevitable as Shendm said. But there was something to cheer for atleast, which had been a while.

The biggest irony here is that the same cantera that Lope didn’t trust for 3 seasons in a row have saved his ass today.

We showed more mobility today somehow but then regressed into the usual, grateful for 3 points but the whole thing needs a massive change of ideas and mentality.

Yup, the manager will move on, but it’s players like this who you need to build on. Bryan Gil could have most easily been our current Isco (and grown to offer more) But we know how that went. You just can’t ignore it for forever and fill it with augustinsson, doomed business.

If they didn’t know it before, we know what to do in January. Speedy winger, dynamic strong midfielder. And if we manage to sell some more, try to upgrade those sales with positional replacements and we are on the way back up.

The 3 points gives us a bit of breathing space to find the right manager. I still haven’t dared to look at the table so far this season.

Could Carmona be some new type of Sergio Ramos?

God, I hope not.

Can’t stand that guy’s stupid face

Did you think so? Felt like a very different team yesterday, but you’re the tactics guy…

I don’t mean chulo, I mean like he turns into a real special player for an entire decade. On the other hand perhaps he’s not special and he’s just the only player with self belief

Maybe cause we scored so early, we didn’t feel the pressure to generate more chances right away. We still created some decent ones, but we were gifted those 2 Carmona goals. En-Nesyri is still taking poor touches to set up his shots, hence my disappointment with him starting.

There are some similarities with Sergio Ramos. Ramos was a central defender in his youth and with SAT.

He exploded into the first team moving in the right back position. Caparrós spent a year trying Dani Alves in different positions before finally deciding it was wing back, at that point Ramos moved back and rotated a number of positions.

Both Alves and Ramos had to be in the team, they were on fire.

It’s that Ramos ego that we really don’t want to see in Carmona and I think we are safe on that question.
