Really poor performance. Very disappointed with that.

We aren’t finishing 2nd playing like this.

Can’t think of any positives to draw from this game, so I won’t say anything.

Only 7 for Bono?

Clean sheet baby.
Possesion. (imagine thinking possesion is a stat resembling dominance :joy:)
Anything for the stats.

Pretty sure Lope agrees, and praises Alaves to the heavens. Will watch his interview later.

I’m really dreading our game against Barca soon like.

Very curious what we put on the plate vs West Ham.

A groundhog day in front of the goal, with the lack of higher quality up front.

Munir showed that so clearly in that late, great chance created by Kounde’s graft and skill - ok, may have been not easy to apply more power to the first attempt, but then like all “just ok” forwards he switched off and missed a better chance on the rebound when the ball came back off the keeper. Good strikers stay alive and follow up, and that’s how they get more goals than the just ok strikers.

The problem is also that YEN is playing like a mediocre/poor striker now too and Tecatito does not pose enough goalscoring threat either.
Need Lamela back asap, but importantly need an upgrade in no.9 role for next season.

IMHO, This team is so mediocre and boring without Papu and Fernando.

When we play away from home and need a goal there is no real urgency. Hopefully we play much better Thursday l. 2nd place and possibly a Europa League would be great.

You are right. Away from home we play like a team with nothing to play for or who is in pre season. It’s so boring to watch.

That’s six games in a row without away win. I don’t know why is this happening, it can’t be just motivation.

We need to realize this could have happened at the start of the league as well. But it didn´t, and we got those wins with the same unimpressive performances. It got us in a position that is over our head. The general drop in level of LaLiga and other teams propelled this even more. But its becoming more and more clear we don´t have enough luck to continue, which is what we have been warning you for from the start. A recipe for eventual doom.

Yeah I agree with your statement. You said it from the start and you been proven right.

We only 2nd due to our defence, Bono, some luck and also our rivals having their worst seasons in many years. However, with Barca and atleti improving it won’t last long. If we let them in then they won’t hesitate to pass us.

On current form we look like a 4th team in the league at best again. We got up for the derby last week which was great but not a sign of things to come.

Overall the very good performances are rare and most game’s especially away are all a struggle. At times tonight we had chances to counter quick and we didn’t do it once. We passed it safe or to slow and allowed them to get back into position.

For a team supposed to be 2nd and trying to make the title race interesting it’s embarrassing from us. I expect Real Madrid to win tomorrow to just end our misery. I’m really disappointed in watching that tonight

Only thing I was hoping for was, when we were actually shared first place. That there would arise some miracle believe within the group of players that they actually think and dream its possible and do everything every game to make this happen. There are magical runs like Leicester, Atletico, or Hoffenheim or RB Leipzig for half a season. Their teams don´t have many injuries but they also all score goals easily. They just get this aura, that you know they will win. We lack both.

We peaked for a special game against Betís, and thank god we did or things would look worse.

Some of the comments on socials for example are rough but fair, because we are so out of place, considering table, fieldplay and europe.

Same here.

This is why it’s not good to get too hyped on a single performance, they’re mostly one-offs and we’ve shown over and over that we don’t build up on them - this has been going on 2019-20 with Lope.

Same old shit, nothing has changed for 3 seasons straight. We still rely on luck and motivation - we can’t be motivated for 50+ matches throughout the season, that’s why you develop systems and strategies.

All cliche…

Especially without Papu - but the guy is 34 and it’s naive from the management to expect him to perform day in day out. Lope needs to change the tactics and approach… do some moves, change things, do something! The season is nearing it’s end and we are seriously risking the 2nd place.

Very lucky to get a draw tonight, if Alaves had been a little more fortunate in front of goal we could have easily lost 4-0.
I was hoping and praying for a penalty as that was the only way we were going to score.
We couldn’t even get the basics right, I lost count of how many of our passes either went to one of their players or straight out of play.
It baffles me that so many of our players can have an off day at the same time. Jordan, Yen, Corona, Delaney, Gudelj & Ocampos were the worst offenders. My only praise would be for Bono who kept us in the game, Kounde & Oliver who at least tried to take the ball forward.
As I’ve said before, without Fernando we are like a ship without a rudder, the worrying thing is that I don’t think we have won a game this season when he has been absent and he could be out until next!
