Does it add up that there’s a campaign against Sevilla?
It’s been going on for years, I think it might be more serious this season but we’ve had some of the most outrageous decisions against us during the last decade.
But the stats and publicity might help us, shining a light is like disinfectant.
But changing subject, WTF is the fuss about Papu leaving the stadium before the game finished, so what, if you’ve seen the road works around there depending where you live you could get stuck for hours.

What we have are players that are not in shape for the way he wants them to play, Sampaoli’s style is very offensive but he also leaves space to concede on the counter-attack goals, 49 goals were conceded in 38 games the last time he was coach of Sevilla, and with a better defence than now.
We also had Ben Yedder, Jovetic, Vietto, Correa and Sarabia as strikers, we don’t really have a striker right now, so scoring goals are a real struggle, put that with a weak defence and a midfield full of 30+ and you have a massive problem!
A problem one winter market is not going to fix, it will be a case of survival of the fittest and I say fittest because apart from the Derbi game we have struggled with fitness in the last 15-20 minutes of games and that is why we are having to use all 5 subs every game. Think we can write off this season but must target survival and mid-table finish, then use the summer to do a 2019 where we shifted out 12 players and brought in 14, but that will cost money, money the club don’t really want to spend but I feel have to invest in this ageing squad or suffer a downturn in fortunes…Castro and the board will be hesitant too because Sampaoli contract expires in June 2024 so players they bring in might not be useful if he doesn’t stay long term, which is probably won’t and could even walk in January if he isn’t backed, which brings me to why we didn’t try and bring in Marcelo Gallardo and give him a 4 year contract and a project he would have accepted, he would have relished this challenge and had stated Sevilla would be his ideal destination, just a shame the club don’t share the same outlook…
