Hopefully Ludwig isn’t that bad. We will know more soon. Yeah I agree we will be fine after the December games as we will recover most in January and the fixtures list gets kinder too.
We have 2 big games with Atleti and Barca now. I’m glad we at home though as that gives us even better chances to get positive results. Hopefully like you say we get a couple back before then.
Lope will probably make a lot of changes for the copa del Rey match.

I agree but you have to look at it this way. Football isn’t always entertaining when you’re team is playing attacking football but also when you have a narrow lead and are watching your team nervously scrap for a win.

Still there is a difference in defending well and united or just surviving by sheer luck. The first I can appreciate, but this one hasn’t been that. I don’t see the entertainment in that, and wonder what would be said if Bilbao didn’t blunder and won with a rightful 4-1 victory.

I agree with you in regards the first half. We got away with murder there and could have been 4-1 down. However, credit to what ever lope said at halftime. He calmed the side down and we looked very assured and contained them well.
Kounde and Carlos were immense 2nd half and our forward players worked hard and defended well from front. We got lucky but at least we took advantage of the luck and carried out a professional performance 2nd half.

Should have lost but we didn’t… Lady Luck was on our side for a change.
One bit of bad news though. I didn’t see it at the time but Fernando picked up a 5th yellow card and so we will be another player short against A Madrid.

Massive win tonight. Poor performance and a lot of luck involved but those are the games you need to win if you want to compete for a league title.

Couldn’t watch the match, but always great to see us getting the 3 points against Bilbao, at San Mames. It’s amazing to say the least. Will be reading the comments and watch the highlights shortly.
From the stats it seems that it was a super-cagey game and Bilbao had more possession of the ball, but 1 shot on goal and 1 goal… that’s Lopetegui’s signature right there.

So far we’ve done very well out of our tough run of fixtures.
Wins against Villarreal and Athletic and unlucky to lose at Real. Home games against Atletico and Barca should give us a chance of getting results in those games and then much easier matches to come after that.
And whisper it but we’re only five points off Real, maybe Atletico doing us a favour tonight wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

Yeah we are doing very well overall. The Madrid derby tonight is a win win for us. It either puts us right back in the title race or it very much strengthens our chances for 2nd place.
