M10: Sevilla FC v Levante [21/22]

Yeah I agree. It was just one of those days for the defence. We probably missed Bono because he’s used to playing and his communication is obviously better at this point. I still think dimitrovic will come good but he was shaky today and probably needs better understanding with his defenders. It’s not easy when you don’t play much though.

I agree. To be honest atleti v soceidad being a draw is prob best for us albeit it would put la real back top. We’d still have a game in hand and I feel soceidad will fade in time as well.

I think Levante looked like scoring everytime they came forward, the defence seemed to open magically for them. It could be that Dmitrovic has unsettled the defence if only psychologically. Whatever the reason, lots of unusual defensive errors and uncertainty. Next stop Mallorca.

Was that Sampaoli in disguise today!? Absolutely mental game. Great to watch though and I loved our exciting football.

Yes defensively it was a horror show at times and I’m not quite sure what Dmitrovic or Carlos were doing for their goals. I know we want to see entertaining football but just cut out the defensive errors.

However I’m not going to criticise too much as our attacking play was great and I’d happily see this over a boring 1-0 win. We’re top of the league for now also so what’s not to like. Long may it continue!

It has been a great attacking display - 3 points won. However, I feel bad about two things:

  1. That grave mistake makes Dmitrovic look very bad, while he is a decent overall goalkeeper, but now will make it even harder for him to compete with Bono, who is for now our best goalkeeper by far.

  2. The 3 goals that we conceded will probably make Lope think twice about deploying such a lineup and tactics next time. I fear we might see us revert back to the same old stuff, which would be a mistake at this point. That is because the mistakes will not happen that often and with a little more concentration we wouldn’t have conceded the second and third goal, all the while even the first one was a lucky shot without a proper chance from Levante.

Anyway, I really hope to see more of the same and this will show no later than on Wednesday vs. Mallorca away. Fingers crossed that the tracksuit is not the only thing that’s changed for Lope. I admire people who change for the good and learn from their mistakes, it shows that they care and that they really want to succeed.

It is proven that we definitely CAN play good football and win matches in style with the current set of players. Who would’ve thought that we’d see 8 goals today after the last few boring matches?

Reminded me of that 6-4 win against Espaynol a few seasons back! Crazy!

  • Oliver had a really good game
  • Augustinsson is a decent back up for Acuna, he showed that he can play more often
  • Good offensive performance, a lot of chances, good crosses from both sides after a long time
  • Diego Carlos with a big mistake, this hapens to often, otherwise he is really good
  • Scoring form from our wingers still bad (Ocampos, Suso, Lamela last few games)

This attacking performace is what we want, this offensive mentality is the key for attractive football.

GRRRRR! I am traveling in Cali this week and missed the game. Sounds like it was a good one. This is the football we should be playing. Pounding goals in.

Just got back home after an eventful time at the RSP.
This being my first match of this season I turned up at the turnstile only to find my new season ticket card didn’t work, the machine refused to recognise it.
So off I trot around the ground to the ticket office and join the queue. When I finally reached the front some idiot decided to turn on a speaker directly above the ticket windows so that we were treated to ear bashing adverts from the stadium public address system.
Now my Spanish is far from perfect at the best of times but together with the glass between us, the girl wearing a mask and “Highway to hell” blasting out at 200 decibels through said speaker, trying to explain my problem was nigh on impossible.
luckily I eventually managed to shout loud enough for her to hear what I was saying and after consulting her boss he took my card away and did something with it on their system and handed it back.
Whatever he did worked and I was able to take my seat in the blazing sun.

As for the match where do I start?
5 goals from 5 different players, school boy errors in defence and Oliver man of the match after I called him crap last week.
Onwards and upwards, bring on Mallorca mid week and hope my card still works for the Osasuna game.
