LaLiga 2021-22 Season Thread

It’s a bit strange right? Morocco is saying it should be 3 weeks, Sevilla 3 months.

It’s very strange, the injury with no name.

Now Papu injured, although it doesn’t sound too bad as he has been training

“Alejandro Gómez suffered a left knee injury in the game with Uruguay and, despite having trained these days, he is not fit to play against Brazil”.

Hi again guys,

I had a bit of time off during the international break but I’m back now.

I’d like to echo these comments. This is a fantastic forum that keeps me updated with all things Sevilla and to be able to talk with like minded fans.

You’ve all made me feel very welcome and are a friendly bunch, so thank you.

Here’s hoping for another Sevilla win!

Cheers,

Ben

Barca awarded a dubious penalty against Espanyol. No surprises there.

Barca so lucky to win that derby. Dodgy penalty and Espanyol missed some absolute sitters.

They might have won but lots of problems remain for Xavi to sort out, especially defensively.

That penalty awarded to Barca just shows there is something very wrong with la liga.
It was as bad as the one they were given against us when Messi kicked the ground and fell over.

Already feels like we can’t afford to lose at Real Madrid if we want to stay in the title race. Real Madrid turning on the style today. I hate them but can’t deny they have the experience and quality to just pull away from the field once they get motoring.

Can’t let them go 5 points ahead to be honest. However, with their quality, officials on their side and our choking ability in big games we face a mammoth task :unamused:

I agree we have to show something in these big games. I don’t have confidence though due to history but if we want to be serious contenders we have to win or at least draw at Real Madrid next Sunday. I hope we can but I will believe it when I see it haha

It’s a bit worrying when RM score 4 and Benzema doesn’t get one.

Yeah that is a bit worrying. I’m not gonna be frustrated if we lose next week as it is Real Madrid after all. All I want is for us to turn up and not bottle the big occasion. If we do that and the officials are fair then it’s cool. If Real Madrid beat us playing vintage then that fine and just say well done to them. Hopefully we can push them.

In a weird way I’m pleased we are away. It might seem daft but Real Madrid have actually struggled more at home this season. They seem to suit being the counter attack team when on the road than forcing the issue at home. Hopefully their trouble to break teams down at home continues.

Hate to say it but Real Madrid were brilliant today. They’re going to be tough to stop on the evidence of today. Goes without saying that we will need to be at our best to have any chance.

It’s one of those rare seasons where we can say that even if we lose against RM, there is still a chance for the title. However, even if they were not looking invincible until now, they are gradually getting to that point of form where they’ll win the winnable matches mechanically - then up the tempo for the important matches and win them too, with refs + VAR if needed.

Soceidad drop points. They were fortunate to draw in the end to be honest.
