Alaves always get away don’t they? Respect to them as they have lots of grit, fight and amazing fans too!
Mallorca are almost certainly going down. Girona definitely down if they lose or draw to Elche. If Girona win, Elche are most likely to sink, but depends on other results.
There are some combinations which relegate Osasuna or Levante, but both of them are probably safe.
Now that the season is over I would like to also say that Levante did extremely well at the end of this season. From being able to register very few players at the beginning of the season, spending almost the entire season in the relegation zone, two winning 7 from the last 13 matches really is impressive. A lot of credit deserved
Yes, indeed. Even recently (after matchday 30) Levante looked dead and buried: 5 points from safety but survived. Conversely, Osasuna nearly blew a 9-point cushion and Girona did blow an 8-point cushion. It’s actually the second time Girona have done that. In 2018-19 they were 9 points clear of relegation after MD28 but went down.
I was preparing to switch teams in LaLiga just in case Sevilla burned and crashed

Hello from Virginia Beach
Welcome back to Primera, Dépor.
Málaga win the play-off final and return to La Liga after an 8-season absence.
Now we get another Andalusian derby and it’s just a 2 hours (or less) drive from Seville
Really great to have them back up. What a rollercoaster, they have been on these 8 years.
3 historic clubs promoted. Deportivo La Coruna, Racing Santander and Malaga!
They dropped down to the third league in that time and still made it back up. Happy to see them back
My first live Sevilla match was against Racing Santander. Happy to see that unique color scheme back in La Liga.
All of them have been through the dark waters to reach the sweet. Racing nearly went bankrupt and their chairman was lucky to avoid being lynched by fans who attacked him. All three have been in the 3rd level in their time away and Depor were 1 point away from dropping to the 4th level in 2021.
Incidentally, 2026/27 fixtures for La Liga (and other levels) will be released on Tuesday 30th after 7pm Spain time.
According to AS, three of the referees that clashed with Mathias Almeyda last season, eventually leading to Almeyda’s ban & later dismissal, have been demoted back to Segunda by the technical committee of referees.
Hopefully Almeyda can see the funny side of it now that he’s back in work at Rayados in Monterey
Really?!?
This kind of thing both is encouraging but also makes me think, “Shouldn’t Sevilla FC and/or Almeyda be able to sue for damages?”
The whole episode was so absurd…
The number of Matchday bans was ridiculous.
2 posts were split to a new topic: La Liga Season 26-27
